I’d like to think it’s solely for spying (to an extent it is) but I fear it’s because the global elites in the USA have sold out for internationalism.

Actually this is a good thing. Actions like this and naming the Sudan, which still practices slavery as head of the human rights commission, oil for food, UN peace keepers forcing young girls in to the sex slave business...... shows most Americans that this group is irrelevant.
Get the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN....NOW.
