STATEMENT OF UNITED STATES ATTORNEY: ARREST OF ASSISTANT U.S. ATTORNEY J.D. ROY ATCHISON
Pensacola, Florida - Gregory R. Miller, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, makes the following statement in response to the arrest of Assistant United States Attorney J.D. Roy Atchison in Detroit on Sunday, September 16:
The employees of the United States Attorneys Office for the Northern District of Florida are deeply saddened by the arrest of federal civil attorney J.D. Roy Atchison. Investigations and prosecutions of this nature are both sensitive and difficult. Our office is fully cooperating with the United States Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Michigan (Detroit), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Macomb County (Michigan) as they continue their work on this case. We have confidence in the integrity of the work these law enforcers and prosecutors are doing, and believe that in the end, justice will be served. We are, of course, concerned about the welfare of Mr. Atchisons family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. The men and women of the United States Attorneys Office are true professionals in every sense of the word. The public can be assured they are doing the work of the nations law firm with excellence, dedicated to ably serving the people of this District.
Married? Children? His behavior has to be a shock to them. I haven't seen anything about how much money was supposed to change hands for this. I guess they won't release that kind of detail until a trial.
This makes one wonder how many of these go on without having an undercover officer at one end. Must be a lot of dangerous people out there corrupting children.
“deeply saddened’
I can’t decide whether to title my next book (the one about how mourning has replaced resolve, yellow ribbons replaced battle flags, and sadness replaced outrage), The Death of Outrage or From Victims to Wimps to Slaves.
AAahhh, they’re deeply saddened. They must all be democrats.

Prayers? Isn’t that the joining of Church and State? Quick, call the ACLU.
