People, settle down. He proposed this in the State of the Union message. Tax policy would be the mechanism and it was a very interesting idea — and one that FINALLY provides a conservative approach to spiking US medical costs.
There has to be a conservative approach or the Democrats will have the issue all to themselves.
Lookie here, we have a winner. :)
‘There has to be a conservative approach or the Democrats will have the issue all to themselves.’
The last time this was attempted, in 1993, that wasn’t necessary. All that was required was noting 7% of the economy would fall under goverment control, then pointing out no other Federal Program has been ‘successful’ enough for this to be considered by intelligent people already receiving the best healthcare in the world.
If the President wants to get into this, he should go to the United Nations and ask they intervene in the war being waged by the Trial Lawyers Association against the AMA, specifically ob/gyn’s.
The doctors are being ‘massacred’. Stop the killing....of the medical profession by the John Edward’s of the world.
You believe that because it is Bush who is offering a version of a universal health care plan that somehow this makes it a 'conservative' approach? PLEASE, there is no 'conservative approach' to instituting a socialist health care system. Bush's caving to socialist principles to obtain future Republican votes isn't exactly a 'conservative approach", at least not in my book. But then again, the Pres crossed over to the other side long ago.
