I’ve heard hash and greek ouzo is a delicacy in turkey. I’ve heard hash and hash oil are a favorite condiment in alexandria. In cairo, I’ve heard the traffic and overpopulation is so bad that people give up and stay home to cook chicken with “stuffing” all the time. The chicken is for later once the munchies set in. I’ve never heard this about hash in iran or iraq however.

According to DEA intel, the Middle East (including Iran), North Africa, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are the main sources of hashish. A few years ago, I saw a DEA world map that indicated source countries for various drugs and the transport routes for the drugs. Iran was shown to be an exporter of Hash, among other things.
