Statistical anomaly (and possibly purposeful skewing). No other scientific poll shows Thompson in the lead.

“The candidates no one supports”

I prefer to call this debate “the fight for the VEEP slot.”

But, I thought Huckabee was "pro-coyote" (you know, the intricate smuggling system on our southern border that facilitates drugs, prostitutes, and terrorists onto our soil in addition to illegal aliens). Somehow that does not strike me as a strong Family Value.

Maybe he fell off his horse and had a conversion?

I point out reality, you live in a fantasy. If you need to shed tears, it’s ok....someone has to lose.

Huckabee might make a good VP, but I really think Duncan missed a real opportunity here. He might be running out of chances.

She really turned me off. Just prattled on and on and on and on and on without coming up for air. What a turn off.

I know tons of 'reglar guys in the good old USA who spend endless hours in their garages or woodsheds or with their miniature train sets just to get away from that kind of wife!

From wikipedia.

“For the sermon, he took his text from the third chapter Ecclesiastes, which starts with “To every thing there is a season...”. When he got to the eighth verse, he declaimed “...a time of war, and a time of peace,... and this is the time of war”. He removed his clerical robe to reveal his Colonel’s uniform. The next day he led out 300 men from the county to form the nucleus of the Eighth Virginia.”

Now that is a leader!

Have you ever heard Janet Folger speak in person? She is very outgoing (which is probably why you thought her nutty) but she is a really nice lady and an incredible speaker. I have heard her speak in person twice and she is one of the most inspirational speakers that I have heard. She is also one of the most dedicated pro-lifers activists in the country. She worked as a pro-life lobbyist for many years (In Ohio I believe) then worked for D. James Kennedy and is now the president of Faith 2 Action. In a few years I think she will be one of the younger generation of Christion Conservative leaders who rise up to fill the shoes of Jerry Fallwell and D. James Kennedy.

I wish people wouild have voted for Hunter, too.

I wasn’t able to hear the debate too well, but Huckabee did well in Iowa, and didn’t have to buy votes like Romney did, and some say it is because of the life issue. Huckabee does a good job in showing how pro-life he is, but I know that wasn’t the only issue here.

Huckabee is good on the life issue, but from my research, I feel that Hunter and Brownback are even more committed to pro-life than Huckabee is. (I don’t agree with Brownback on many other issues, though.)

Fred Thompson. Because the other conservatives in the race simply don’t have the OOMPH!

Sorry for my unkind tone just now about her.

But she DID need to take it down juuuust a notch or two, if she wants to get her message accepted by normal Joe's turning in to watch.

Those of you who are strongly opposed to Huckabee due to his former positions as governor on the border (which I am not as familiar with). What would you think of a Huckabee/Hunter ticket? I would prefer Hunter on top but I think that would be a ticket that I could gladly support and it may be the best chance of defeating Rudy T. McRomney. Thoughts?

Mike Huckabee is a nut. He's a pro-illegal nicotine-nazi. His suggestions of a national smoking ban and that we allow illegals into this country to make up for the way this country used to treat black people is assinine.

The so called debates have only so far been sessions where someone asks a question, and each candidate gets his 90 seconds to state a position. Hardly much time to get a real feel for the candidate as a whole. It’s more a chance for the media to get 15 second sound bites to use against the candidate.

She is trying to unify the Christian Conservative vote and I would agree with her there we do need to unify so that we are not force-fed Rudy T. McRomney. I would prefer Hunter of Huckabee but I don’t have nearly as much of a negative reaction to Huckabee as you all seem too.

“In his defense he is running on scrapping the IRS and replacing it with the FAIR Tax that will cut the size of government.”
_______________________________________________

Well, golly gee willikers, if he is going to run based on a promise that he doesn’t have a snowballs chance in Hell of keeping, even if he gets on his knees every night and begs the Good Lord, why stop there?

Why not just promise a tax free society while he is at it?

Until we get OB1KNOB’S links fixed, let me entertain you with his copied and pasted stuff from the homepage of someone who has lived in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Arkansas under the former “Fat Bastard” KFC finger lickin Governor turned nanny state health advocate.

1. Supported taxes (Old-fashioned Tax-and-Spend politician)- engineered a 3% state income tax surcharge (a tax on the tax you paid in income tax) that was supposedly to make up for budget shortfalls - and then kept in in place a year longer than was necessary (and promised).

Raised fuel taxes

Encouraged the use of sales tax as an easy means of revenue boosting.

Opposed all efforts to reduce the sales tax on groceries and prescription drugs, even in years with a budget surplus. Heck, our new Democrat (liberal at that) Governor, under public pressure, agreed to a reduction in grocery sales tax...

2. ArKidsFirst - One of the larges social spending programs in Arkansas history was his baby. I don’t have a problem with helping low income folks get medical care, but I know many folks on it that could afford regular coverage - but why when big gubmint will give it free?

3. Big Government - Huckabee, between his socialist healthcare moves, his heavy hand regarding tobacco use, his mandatory “search lunchboxes of school kids” “health” initiative, and massive expansion of most social programs...

4. Poor record of political appointments - just one example - Sheffield Nelson on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission - who has single-handedly tarnished the organization and really pissed off sportsmen in the state with his obstructionist and blatantly anti-”regular Joe” initiatives.

5. Illegal Immigration - Huckabee actually called anyone against illegal immigration (those who wanted to prevent free tuition to illlegals, free social benefits to illegals, etc.) non-Christian.

6. Party Affiliation - Huckabee has chosen in the last couple of elections to not be supportive of Republican candidates, including Lt. Governor, when they were a solid conservative choice, preferring more “moderate” or even liberal candidates.

Actually, it depends on how the polling is done. Ras uses registered Republican voters, Gallup uses Republican or Republican-leaning(whatever the heck that is), ABC uses a random sample method of people. No two of the polls are the same. Ras seems to have a bit more credibility because they compare apples with apples.

Their trend indications of the Presidents approval rating is right on with other polls or slightly ahead. So trying to make the case they are 'purposeful skewing' is kinda dishonest.
