...over sixty years after the war, virtually every French persons grandpa was a Freedom Fighter.
Guess all the Frenchmen defending and causing 479+ dead and 720 wounded were all sterile and never had any children.
No blood for sand!!!
“Germany didn’t attack Pearl Harbor”
That’s correct, but the point made in the threads to which I was responding is that Roosevelt attacked North Africa, not Japan, in response to Pearl Harbor, and Bush, similarly recognizing that 9/11 was not an isolated event, took up the fight in Iraq, a location of his choosing. BTW: Nice cryptic comment about the ignorant.
I know... that is so sad...
I always wonder what if Hitler had not declared war on the US, what would have happened. I suspect the US would have started aiding Britain more, hoping that the Germans would eventually torpedo a US ship, which would then have made it easier for us to declare war on Germany.
It was well known that FDR already assured Churchill that the US would adapt a "Europe First" policy.

R. Scott, Help me out a little buddy. I don’t quite savvy your response.
Having NG and CIA SITE this is NOT an EXCUSE.....
I Know, LVF and above all THE FRENCH SS LEGION CHARLEMAGNE....
RUSSKY found some of them even in BERLIN on March 1945....
I. Consider. All. 9/11. Conspiracy.Theories. NAUGHTY. CRAP. PERIOD.
His only REAL achievement was in all but eliminating the Mafia from southern Italy and Sicily, which is why organized crime was "all too eager" to collaborate with the Allies. Il Douche couldn't even make the trains run on time, as promised.
I always thought the proximity of Suez had something to do with it.
If we had lost in the desert against Rommel, .... China would be Japanese territory, along with Indonesia....
Maybe, but probably not. The two wars were essentially fought separately. A serious check in Africa would have been bad, but it probably would not have materially affected our conduct of the Pacific war. It might even have speeded it up.
9/11 conspiracy theories are unbecoming of a Freeper. It’s like chilling old claret or beating someone else’s wife. It’s not done in the best circles, old boy.
It happened that it could be done in Africa. If it had had to happen some other place, it would have happened there. The location of the offensive was not as important to FDR as the date of the offensive, according to what I've read.
FDR didn’t. Back in the late 70’s, there was a “documentary” on the FDR white house. The black servants really ran everything, including WWII strategy.
Okay, but if three or four years on we were still fighting in Africa, and not in Germany and Okinawa, what then?
“There are many Americans who do not have maps...”
I don’t know why, but I feel kinda sorry for Ms South Carolina, kinda want to sit her on my lap with a world globe in hand and teach her some geography...
To liberals, history is stuff like Woodstock and Stonewall and Kent State and Watergate. Vietnam after LBJ.
And probably UFO Files on The History Channel.
Training for D-Day and to keep the Suez Canal open.
Let’s turn to American born broadcaster and entertainer (writer of radio dramas), Mildred Gillars (aka Axis Sally), FDR did it for his “kike boyfriends”; Roosevelt and his Jews.
The hate speech of those who hate America has not changed in 65 years.
