What percentage of American truck drivers are union?

Somewhere around 5%, Stephen John. The unions have actually gone over to the Dark Side in their desperation by recruiting illegals and lobbying for their non-existent "rights".

Almost all truckers nowadays are either independent contractors or employees who might as well be labeled such. Truckers had enough problems without having Mexicans trying to cut into yet another industry where poorly represented laborers were barely getting by as things already stood.

We’re cool; I was just pointing out how the constant accusations of unionism, in this case, are totally off the mark. It’s sort of sad to see the formally indomitable unions of the Hoffa era used so easily as patsies by more nefarious groups. It illustrates how far down the ladder they’ve gone, influence-wise.
