O.J. Simpson has been arrested in Las Vegas and will likely be charged on three counts -- conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery and armed robbery with a deadly weapon, according to CNN.
Story developing ...
this from Drudge...
Does O.J. Leave Vegas Wedding Whistling If I Only Had a Brain?
http://www.breitbart.tv/html/5637.html
Would this take place in the showers of whatever institution he get sent to?
I don’t think any of us on the thread would give him bail. However- I did hear (during the press conf) a reporter ask the officer from the detention cneter where he could get a copy of the recommended bail amounts for these crimes.
I imagine the judge has a lot to weigh..
“Geragos (sp) says its nothing. Looks like he found his council.”
Well good then, I expect he will perform as well for OJ as he did for Scott Peterson. [Geragos sold his soul a long time ago.] (IMO)
And so do the oddsmakers in Vegas...!!!
:)
It could be 4 felonies, and a flight risk. The flight risk will be minimized due to his cooperation. Bond could happen.
Beardsley, who is in possession of the suit Simpson wore when he was acquitted, told us Simpson and his posse showed up at his hotel room on Thursday pretending to be customers who wanted to buy the famous threads.
Beardsley says they entered the room and two men drew guns on him. He says Simpson was the ringleader.
The perp walk...
Voire dire to the rescue.
I dream along with you.
I’m working on a hunch here, but I think the world has had enough of OJ giving law and order in this country the finger. We’re all at times bemused by the anomolies and vagueries of the law but for the most part our system works.
This two bit piece of phony baloney is making us all feel just a little too much fooled and we’re not happy about it. I’m willing to believe that the black people who blindly rooted for who had been, at that time, a black success straight from the ghetto, too will be embarrassed by OJ.
Just a hunch and yes, many of us watch the events unfold as they have today with a curious interest.
But I think OJ is a done deal. Don’t know how, don’t know when, but he’s done peeing upon our collective feet and telling us it’s raining.
I say this because minute by minute this story changes and morphs. The underlying thing here is how OJ has spent his lying, murdering days trying to beat the system and he’s making us all ask why have a system if a moron like OJ can beat it, all while looking for the murderers on the golf courses across America?
He has offshore bank accounts, he’s making secret deals to sell his stuff, he’s stolen cable time...it goes on and on.
Two people are dead because of his useless self and yeah, perhaps it’s a bit of a rant...but I predict that everyone, even groups of many ones, has a limit and I see the weary post-9-11 OJ WORLD, remember this, will see to it that this OJ episode will be the final one for him.
He will end up in ignomy behind bars for as long as they can keep him.
Opinions? Bets? Brickbats?
“Stay tuned for OJ’s mugshot.” LOL.
The murder case was also simply except for a stupid and/or corrupt jury.
Good post, I would say that covers it.
from what I have seen, many of the people that supported OJ back then still say he didn’t do it.
“Jury nullification” as well as inept prosecution and lenient (towards defense) judge.
I read Marcia Clark’s book. She operated on vanity and zeal, both of which blinded her to making smart moves.
Also, bad idea to televise the trial: judge’s call.
Could be.
We shall see. As events unfold, as Rush would say.
Police are seeking four men, including three they identified by name but not by age or hometown: Clarence Stewart, Michael McClinton, Tom Scotty and another white male adult who was not identified.
Walter Alexander has 9 children.
