The Endangered Species Act has run amok.
The latest example is the longfin smelt. Another species nearing extinction? That's what a handful of very rich lawyers disguised as environmentalists and some so-called "expert" from Arizona say.
Connect them to a bonehead judge and you, too, could strip away 33 percent of the water that serves 25 million people.
They want us to believe that a couple of large pumps are sucking in and killing off a single species of fish from more than 1,000 miles of waterways.
I don't buy it. Maybe that's because in their own case they noted "The environmental groups say the fish is nearing extinction in the Klamath and Russian river estuaries and appear to have disappeared from Humboldt Bay."
That's interesting. No pumps in those estuaries.
Longfin smelt also have been found from Coos Bay, Ore., to Prince William Sound in Alaska, according to the California Department of Fish and Game. Endangered?
The farmers who operate one of the largest industries in California are being warned to expect only half the water next year as they received this year. We can put the farmer on the endangered list next year.
I suggest we put fraudulent environmental lawyers into extinction.
Miller is a resident of Concord.
How’s this sound , Judge? A little beer batter and a griddle and we can get rid of these little suckers in no time, maybe play a round of golf or two between feeds.
Run amok? decidedly so..
Water-fish-ping
This is good. I hope the lawyers win. At some point the people have to recognize the extremism of the environmental movement and a backlash will take hold.
A shortage of water to bathe in won't bother them much. Unwashed liberal females just spray on more cheap purfume, and get french manicures to hide the dirt under their fingernails.
It says the farmers will be affected most. Not unwashed liberals for the most part. Food price rises should start to take their toll soon.
Bow down, you silly humans....you who do not appreciate Divinity!!
Bah! Promises promises...
Nope. You'll buy food from abroad where the donors to these "environmental" groups have massive investments. Depressing land values for acquisition (and especially water rights) is high on the agenda too.
Save the environment,
kill an environmentalist.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
Watermelons on the move. Although, the lawyers are in it strictly for the profit.

Allow the bottom of the gene pool to make the rules for all of society, and this is always the result.
Insanity in actual political practice.
Welcome to the Brave New World.
No need to exaggerate.
Delta smelt satisfies critical human needs: bait, cat food and fertilizers.
Some say that they also provide the same functions as a $500,000,000 state of the art water treatment plant too...
Bright little suckers.
