Deu 6:1 Now these [are] the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do [them] in the land whither ye go to possess it:
Deu 20:18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
Mic 3:11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, [Is] not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
Jer 42:6 Whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.

Music Inside
READ: Psalm 98
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. Psalm 98:4
Singing comes naturally to the four von Trapp children. They are the great-grandchildren of Captain Georg von Trapp, whose romance with his second wife Maria inspired the 1965 film The Sound of Music.
After their grandfather Werner von Trapp had a stroke, the Montana siblings recorded their first CD in order to cheer him up. Soon the children were performing around the world. Stefan, the childrens father, says, The music is inside them.
The writer of Psalm 98 also had a song in his heart. He called on others to join him in singing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things (v.1). He praised God for His salvation, His righteousness, His mercy, and His faithfulness (vv.2-3). The psalmists heart was so overflowing with praise that he called on the earth to break forth in song, the rivers to clap their hands, and the hills to be joyful (vv.4,8).
We have much to be thankful for as wellGods good gifts of family, friends, and His daily supply for our needs. He faithfully cares for us, His children.
We may not be able to sing well. But when we recall all that God is to us and all that He has done for us, we cant help but break forth in song (v.4). -->
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven,
To His feet thy tribute bring;
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Evermore His praises sing. Lyte
Praise is the overflow of a joyful heart.

This Day in U.S. Military History September 16
1920 - As lunchtime approached on September 16, 1920, New York's financial district was grinding through its regular motions--people were gathering outside to eat, and brokers were holed up inside, busily trading away the day.
But before the clock hit noon, routine gave way to panic, as a horse-drawn wagon filled with explosives suddenly detonated near the subtreasury. Flames flooded Wall Street, shooting up nearly six-stories-high. The blast shattered windows around the area and sent a pipe crashing against the neck of a man strolling some six blocks away from the subtreasury. All told, 300 people were killed and a hundred more were wounded. The only famous financial figure to be injured was Junius Spencer, J.P. Morgan's grandson, who suffered a slight gash on one hand. Since radical bashing was in vogue at the time, Communists, Anarchists, and anyone else leaning too far to the left were accused of having staged a violent protest against capitalism. More pragmatic souls argued that the wagon belonged to an explosives operation and had simply strayed from its prescribed route. Whatever merits these theories have, the ensuing investigation failed to uncover the culprit or cause of the blast, and the case remains a mystery.
