The story of the week wasn't Gen. David Petraeus' testimony on Iraq, although it dominated the headlines. The story of the week wasn't the sixth return of September 11 since the jihad atrocity of 2001, although it inspired many public statements and ceremonies. The week's biggest story garnered little press and few comments. But, in a significant way, this overlooked story an outrageous display of police force in Brussels on September 11, 2007 symbolizes the missing link in our flawed comprehension of both Iraq and September 11.
There, in the so-called capital of Europe, 200 people marked the day with a protest against the Islamization of Europe a civilizational shift which, as Europe increasingly accommodates Shariah (Islamic law), is shockingly advanced. Indeed, Bernard Lewis has already predicted Europe will become Islamic by century's end. Absent a reversal of Islamization (which remains possible) I'm guessing sooner than that.

For those already aware of the lofty goals of islam, don't miss the concomittant threat to liberty addressed in this piece: the increasing use of brutal police force, what might be called the rise of the police-state. Anyone older than 30 who is honest with himself can attest to it right here at home.
The favorite method of "law and order" type of right-wingers, this affront to human dignity is, along with propaganda, the favorite tool of any dictatorship. And with good reason: it's essential in dictatorship.
Beware. Just as they used our airplanes against us, and just as they use our media and our legal system against us, so they will us our obsession with all-or-nothing, heavy handed police tactics against us (as attested to in this piece) unless willfully fought.
And, once the mechanism of fascism has arrived, how long before an Islamist extremist seizes power?
Belgium is a long way down the toilet...
I thought this encouraging, for the willingness to fight back. The same week however, the EU proposed bringing millions of laborers from Africa and Asia. showing they have learned nothing. Unless all this imigration is a deliberate attempt to undermine national cultures.
There were two must read threads about this demonstration this week.

Our children and grandchildren will fight and die once again, in the fields of Europe.
I, too. But the true measure will be whether any outrage is generated among the Belgian public by the government's response. I fear not. Walloons are much further down the toilet than the Flemings -- they will universally try to accommodate the Islamists. At least some of the Flemings will fight -- but they are doomed.
Unless all this imigration is a deliberate attempt to undermine national cultures.
I'm convinced that, to a degree, it is. There are politicians who would prefer a more dependent, thus more pliant, electorate.
The people who rose up on their hind legs and defeated the so-called "comprehensive immigration bill" are the clear enemies of the Beltway and its inhabitants.
We're clearly not going to re-elect them term-after-term -- unless they respect our views. We're clearly going to fight against an ever-increasing role for a more powerful government.
Thus, the blatent move to alter the electorate in favor of the elected leaders and the bureaucrats who constitute the Beltway elite.
I would prefer to be wrong about this. But I'm increasingly convinced that the most important political battle now is between the Beltway and the American public.
This is ominous, a peaceful protest being violently attacked by the Belgain police, mainly because the sponsor was called “ Stop the Islamization of Europe.” Look at the pics, the police are acting like Hitler’s SS.
This really does make one question Europe’s future.
