The kids in the BDUs also have no posture and don’t know how to hold a flag. I’ve seen (actually, just saw today) a 60 year old- disabled Vietnam Vet stand with his back straighter and hold his flag with more pride and honor, even though I knew he was hurting, as a fellow Marine was buried.

In the picture of the Sailor reenlisting, there is an elderly woman to the left and behind the Sailor standing at attention. Now there is a true American!!!

Most “veterans” one sees at protests are exactly what you said: Lefties who’ve gotten a BDU set and a boonie hat from the Army Navy store and are pretending. Foor some reason they always seem to have new gear with little or no rank insignia, whereas I took four complete BDUs, a dress uniform, two field jackets and a parka with me when I left the Air Force. Plus, I had a flight jacket I had bought surplus which had my rank and the patches for the squadrons, wings, numbered air forces and commands I had served in.
