This one is far better than the actual Rudy ad!

They posted it online on their blog. I have the print copies of the last 3 days of USA Today, and there are NO articles on Rudy’s ad (unless I’m missing it or if it’s in the Life section).

I’ll check again, but I don’t think they printed it. And I don’t know how many of their millions of readers log on to usatoday.com to read their political blog.

Re: Fred Thompson
Qualifications...

Yeah, yeah, yeah... but what else can you offer to convince me?

Hummmmmmm... what else?

Gadzooks! He married... a real hottie with brains!

You've convinced me, hoosierpearl! I'll vote for him... twice. Three times if I can pull it off!

Remember, we are up against Democrats, campers... and they get more votes from graveyards than their are graves!

BTW...

Go, Fred, Go!

I don’t know either. Still, check the printed version tomorrow or Monday. The giuliani ad ran today and since then the USA TODAY online article has been updated several times to include comments on the upcoming moveon.org ad attacking the President.

I don’t see Rudy’s ad or any article or blurb on it anywhere in Wednesday’s, yesterday’s, and today’s USA Today (print edition). And come Monday, it will be old news and forgotten.

USA Today doesn’t print on the weekends (today’s copy is listed as Fri/Sat/Sun), and 3 days is an eternity in political news/media land.

Unless it gets more controversy, I don’t anticipate it in Monday’s version, either. And forget the networks bringing it up - FoxNews and CNN might cover it, but that’ll be it for national exposure. You can’t fight the enemy press.

Re: (Will NOT vote for Rudy. <--- notice the period)

So, if Rudy gets the GOP nomination... you don't vote and the Dems win, we call all thank you for getting us neck deep in horse manure?

And, of course... I will be forced to hunt you down and exercise my 2nd Amendment rights while they last!

Re:

That would have been a great ad to have run on a full page.

I agree... however, I think Walt Kelly or whatever lib that now owns the copyright would not recognize my 'satire exception' use of Pogo and Kelly's original 1971 jab at the US involvement in Vietnam.

I agree with you that the ad could have been more impressive. I also think it was a good effort to attract some attention to the sickness that is the left.

I was speaking with my mother last week, catching up on some family news. We rarely talk about politics. I don't even know how she votes. She brought up the topic of one of my cousins who was injured (he was burned across his face, arms, and chest) in Iraq and was now looking for work in Texas. She noted that my cousin's mother was worried about him because he has been very reluctant to talk to her about his injury or what he did in Iraq. The subject then turned to how we both agreed that our troops deserve our full support in order to win. Since we were now talking about Iraq, I asked my mother if she would run an Internet search for comments by chuck schumer and to read them aloud to me. She's new to the Internet but quickly found a series of comments and picked one at random. She didn't know who schumer was, but before she could finish the article she stopped and told me that there was something seriously wrong with that man. I noted that he was just one example in a snake pit of many.

I tend to think there are many who, like my mother, don't really keep up with politics. Perhaps they choose to ignore the issues or perhaps they just don't know who to believe. Whatever the reason, ads like rudy's help serve as a means to draw attention to the problem.

Tell your cousin how truly grateful we are for his willingness to serve his country.

Gimme a break. If Fred or Hunter had done this you'd be salivating. You just hate Rudy so bad that you'll dis whatever he does. Whatever his issues, he has far and above been out ahead on CRITICIZING, by name, the Dems for this entire season.

Here's the fact: the winner of the GOP primaries ultimately will be the person who attacks Dems the most. Not attacks each other. Hillary figured that out, and has completely ignored her primary opponents. Republicans should figure that out as well.

Hey, if Rudy has that much money to actually run it in the NY Times, more power to him. I really question the wisdom of his campaign spending, however. Please tell us what he will gain in New York.

"I will be forced to hunt you down and exercise my 2nd Amendment rights while they last!"

Ironically, protection of your 2nd Amendment rights is why many refuse to consider Rudy.

I like the fact that Rudy attacks dims and liberals more than all the other GOP candidates combined.

I believe it's the road to the nomination. Fred better wake up soon, or he'll find himself loosing the early primaries...and maybe the nomination.

Only if you're voting against someone. The Democrats tried this in 2004 with their "Anyone But Bush" campaign, and it failed. Now, I see a lot of Republicans (primarily supporters of Guiliani) with a "Anyone But Hillary" mantra.

As for your prediction, it falls flat. You discount the media's ability to paint the attacking Republican as "mean", "racist, or "sexist"; or their ability to flat-out ignore the story (as they will likely do with this ad). It's a stacked deck.

I went back to college in 1996-2001 in NJ and I had several professors who used the NYT in classes (pol sc and history) as the paper “of record” and one even required we subscribe to it for the class as part of our reading materials. New York and the tri-state areas are not the only place one finds the NYT. You can find it in any airport, bookstore chain, etc. around the country. Rudy was not just singing to the chorus in placing it in the NYT, maybe it might make a few liberals wake it there, who knows. Kudos to him I say.

They almost won in 2004, even with a loser like Kerry running...I believe if we stop bickering, pull together and agree to vote for whomever we want to in the primary, but support the winner for the national election so that Hillary Clinton doesn’t have any controlling authority over General Petraeus and our fine troops. Her comments this week ought to be a slap in the face for anyone NOT voting (R) in the general election. If people want to be a “one issue” voter, then atleast let that one issue be for our national security which we won’t have under a demoncRAT!

The NYT has created a controversy on its own pages and helped itself sell more papers!

Pinch's viral marketing of "deeply discounted" ads where people trade $65,000 of cold cash for fleeting glory also noted. A steal, so to speak.

Rootie is not exactly know for his staunch defense of the 2nd.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. And a RINO is still a RINO. And I'm tired of voting in RINO's.

So, as I said: My tagline stands.
