WASHINGTON Senator Clinton squared off yesterday with her possible challenger for the White House in 2012, General David Petraeus, and came closer than any of her colleagues to calling the commander of the multinational forces in Iraq a liar.
Using blunter language than any other Democrat in the last two days, Mrs. Clinton told General Petraeus that his progress report on Iraq required "a willing suspension of disbelief."
Referring to the charts General Petraeus brought to the House and Senate this week, Mrs. Clinton said, "Although the charts tell part of the story, I don't think they tell the whole story." She said the "bottom-up" political reconciliation was "anecdotal" and that the success in Anbar province, where sheiks turned on Al Qaeda, started before the surge.
At the end of her speech, Mrs. Clinton pointed to what she saw as a discrepancy in the general's responses to questions from other senators about whether he would recommend that America keep 130,000 troops in Iraq a year from now if no progress was made toward national reconciliation.
"Don't you think the American people deserve a very specific answer about what is expected from our country in the face of the failure of the Iraqi government and its...

Good one!
OTOH, “Hillary, shut yer piehole!”
Just another day at the office for the ‘Rats. Good post!!
Don’t worry Hillery the Gen. will be back to kick your and congress butts again in 6 month.
I feel silly just saying the word “credibility” in the same sentence as I mention Hillary Clinton (spit).
That’s right, she said the exact opposite August 20, 2007 at the VFW Convention.
Put the bong down slowly and walk away.
Not sure it was mentioned in this article, but Hillary’s pretentious remark “willing suspension of disbelief” was not at all original. Some commentators seemed puzzled by the phrase as if it were something new. But it’s a common phrase used to describe what one must do to enjoy reading fiction, all fiction including the best or worst available.
There, fixed it
Would Hillary Clinton make a good commander in chief during war??? That is the question voters need to ask themselves.
Sounds like Gen. Patraeus unwillingly found himself in a sword fight with a one-armed blind woman on crutches and armed only with a pocket knife....
Don’t forget the crucifix, garlic, silver bullet, Klieg lights, and stake through the heart....
It's funny because that is the EXACT phrase I thought of when Billary pretended to be shocked after Hsu's fugitive status was revealed by the MSM.
There is no such thing as a “no brainer” when it comes to the American voter. History will bear me out on that point....
Oh but once W is out of office there will be no more wars and UBL’s friends will plant flower gardens instead of IEDs. /sarc
Elect this or any other Clintonista and we will see CW2!
Don’t worry. If she wins the D nomination, she will surely revise her statements again, because her advisors will tell her the hard core left is locked up, and that she needs to appeal to more moderate voters.
This latest position on Iraq is just her latest flavor of the month.
In a battle of Credibility/Intelligence (or any other comparison, for that matter)....It seems to me, Shrillary is totally unarmed....like taking a grape (as a weapon) against a person armed w/ a sword/axe...or any other "bladed tool".
