it would be good to study this video to see the body language and facial expressions of someone who knows he’s lying. Apparently stiffening and squinching of the shoulders is a tell-tale sign for one thing.

He’s talking... he’s lying.
He is, of course, assuming that HIS party will win next year.

He is, of course, assuming that HIS party will win next year. The only advantage of universal health care to anybody is to the federal government employees who get to run it.
Everybody else loses. Everybody!
Knowing what we know, if we elect a Democrat Congress and a Democrat President, we deserve what we get.

it would be good to study this video to see the body language and facial expressions of someone who knows hes lying. Apparently stiffening and squinching of the shoulders is a tell-tale sign for one thing.Although I agree that a body-language study would be interesting, I would suggest that in this matter he's actually speaking the truth, as he sees it. Because his entire social circle is hard-Leftists and MoveOn types, he most likely believes that the majority of Americans feel the same way that he does. Therefore, he probably envisions a Hard Left sweep of the 2008 election (voter fraud) and so from his view, 2009 would be quite likely as the year that HillaryCare would be put into place.

"Every country in the world, that's in the industrialized world, has come up with a way to provide coverage for all their citizens with insurance, with health insurance. And the United State stands alone in our inability to do that so far.
Now, there's no reason we can't do it. Everyone else has figured out how to do it. And they've gotten business, and they've gotten labor, and they've gotten government and they've got citizens involved and they've come up with a system that works for them. Each one of the systems is different.
The only thing that's been missing in the United States is the political will. Now, we've been here...I've been here twenty years and, before that, there were a number of people who have tried, but the problem simply gets worse, because every year, we put band-aids on one problem or another. And so, I think in 2009, we are going to have an American universal system that covers everybody, that can't be taken away, and is paid for by all the people.
That way we'll have a system that will make it possible to move from job to job. It will be possible for college students, when they're looking for jobs to still have health care.
It should cover everyone, at all times, because you never know when you're going to get sick or be in an accident."

It will cover all Americans except the ruling class in Congress who will retain gold-plated coverage.I'm guessing that any brave political candidate who makes it clear that he or she will opt out of the lavish Congressional healthcare program, and follows through in a transparent way by retaining private insurance and seeing doctors that are available to the public would be catapulted into office and would be nearly unstoppable if such a promise was honestly adhered to.

I envision this communist piece of crap McDermott being disappointed when this is vetoed by the next Republican president.I envision a VERY tough fight in 2008, entirely due to voting fraud and corruption from the Left, not as a result of an honest vote of the people.

Change Americans to Seattlites and he would be right. A majority of Seattlite would agree with him.

On that point he would be correct, but he also is so insulated from the Real America that he thinks that his social circle is representative of all of the USA.
He's an arrogant Leftist, and thinks that there are only a few 'crazy right-wingers' who disagree.
