Florida Police Hunt Teacher Who Used Abortion to Hide Sexual Abuse

Boyntown Beach, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Police in Florida are looking for a public school teacher who is accused of having sex with two of his students and using an abortion to cover up his actions. Santaluces High School drama teacher Andrew Foster, 27, allegedly started having sex with the students last year and got one of them pregnant.

One of the victims, who is 18, told authorities that after she got pregnant Foster took her to an abortion center for an abortion.

The abortion facility appears not to have told the girls' parents and they didn't know of the abortion or the sexual relations until the young woman finally confessed it to them.

Another victim told police she and Foster, who has been a teacher at the school for four years, had sexual relations at his apartment.

According to the Sun-Sentinel newspaper, Foster also mailed pornographic pictures of himself to the girls on their cell phones.

Detective Sgt. Thomas Wallace talked with the newspaper about Foster's actions and said they constitute "a heinous act."

"You send your children to school and expect them to get an education -- and not a sex education -- especially from the teachers," he said.

Police have not apprehended Foster and authorities believe he is in the south Florida area and knows there is a warrant out for his arrest. Anyone with information about Foster's whereabouts is asked to call the Boynton Beach Police at 561-742-6136 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-458-8477.

Pro-life advocates are concerned that abortion is frequently being used as a means of covering up sexual abuse.

Recent cases of this have surfaced in New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio and Mississippi.

And just think, if the genders were reversed, everyone would be explaining how "lucky" these students were and how they shouldn't have told anyone.

Florida Police Hunt Teacher Who Used Abortion to Hide Sexual Abuse

Incredible as it may be, "abortion" was not a topic of discussion
in the conservative Church of Christ I grew up in.
(I guess there was a presumption that abortion was something
church members couldn't be involved in, so don't talk about it.)

I hate to admit it was a couple of decades later when listening
to a Focus On The Family episode that I finally heard of the
real dark side of abortion clinics.
And their willing complicity in covering up sex crimes and
pedophilia.

I hope the cops catch this scum mentioned in the article.
And as many more as possible!!!

Indeed.

And look at the girl’s age. She’s EIGHTEEN. That is NOT sexual abuse.

To call it ‘abuse’ demeans the very real abuse that hundreds of thousands of innocent people endure.

He overstepped his bounds but at least she was 18. And he is 27. At least he’s not one of these 35 year old women sleeping with a 15 year old. But because he has a penis he’s worse even though he’s not at all accused of rape.

Oh, but I get it now—it’s the news source making the title because they’re anti-abortion. I understand the position but they shouldn’t hype this up into something it’s not (abuse) just because it has a pro-life angle.

I am so glad you pointed this hypocrisy and stupidity out!
Young boys can also be emotionally damaged from sex with a ‘person in authority”...sex is emotional enough for a teenager without adding the ramifications of sex with a teacher.

I wonder if a parent could sue in civil court...but then with larry King interviewing teachers who have had several children with their students, guess its no big deal.

I don’t know the specifics about Florida, but nearly all states have laws covering sexual abuse when a person is in a authority position.

You're jumping to conclusions not supported by the evidence.

One of the victims, who is 18

"Is" is a present tense verb. The story explicitly states that Foster "started having sex with the students last year."

We're nine months into 2007, right now. Do the math. ;)

Please show me where the story indicates that either girl was 18 when he had sex with them.

somehow I keep thinking, 18 y o woman is not that sheepish. Yeah, the guy is a scumbag, no question there. But I was 18 not so long ago. I had no interest in men 9 years my senior. And even if I did, I would expect to be married before... you know... I see her as much victim of her own bad choices.

It doesn't say she was 18 last year, or exactly when she got involved with him. It could be that she was a minor, which would mean he's a felon. In the other scenario, he's just a corrupt fornicator who needs to be hung by his heels for about a week.

First of all, the story never says that either girl was 18 at the time.

Secondly, are you suggesting that the teacher’s illegal act should be forgiven based on “bad choices” on the part of the girls?

In most states it is a felony for a teacher to have sex with a student regardless of age.

The abortion facility appears not to have told the girls' parents . . .

They have such respect for privacy!

absolutely no forgiveness. However, the girl needs to do some serious soul searching (and her parents maybe even more)... Or she may again find herself in victim situation.

Didn’t know that more than a few states had laws on the books about sex with students.

As for her being 17, I missed that and indeed if she was 17 at the time, it may not matter. Some states have absolute ages of consent and others only allow ‘underage’ if there’s a small gap. I don’t know what Florida’s law is and the FACT that there are so many differences in the states tells me that this is not a cut and dried moral issue.

If he broke a law about teachers having sex with students, then charge him under that law but it IS NOT sexual abuse. Just as it would not be sexual abuse if someone on the cusp of 18 consents to sex with a 27 year old woman.

It cheapens the power of the charge when it’s made in legitimate circumstances and then has us making ‘sex offenders for life’ out of people who are not always guilty of anything but having a girlfriend who is 2 years younger than he (it has happened.)

Remember that ‘sex offender’ that was killed some time back and he was on the list because of his relationship with a girl that was about 2 years younger? (19-17, I think.) And because people think all sex offenders are massive pervs and threats to society, someone out there thought it was OK to kill this guy, thinking he was a rapist and not an innocent boy who got caught up in our hysteria over sex crimes.
