Better yet, these "campaign donations" in the form of discount rates to the Democrat party members should be counted as such and the traitorous "news" paper and democrat party charged with illegal campaign contributions laundering.

How about suing them making an illegal campaign donation to the Dems?

If the campaign contribution was recorded as going to the DNC as an organization, I believe it would be considered "soft money" and would not be limited in amount. However, the DNC (or whatever the receiving organization was) would have to report it to the FEC.

So the contribution itself would not be illegal.

Now that I've stated that, I welcome comments or corrections from the (professional or amateur) election lawyers out there.

Well, doesn’t Thompson have a record on Social Security and Medicaire issues from his time in the Senate? Whatever that is, you can bet that the ‘Rats will play the same old fear game against him should he get the GOP nomination.
