Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.
This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates
That would be hunting, Deer Dear...
Young Dude on the right better keep his head down..
I can’t remember seeing this many police cars at one time.
This is one heavy duty dragnet.
Seeing residential, commercial, forests and canals. This is a complicated search in progress.
This guy could be anywhere.
Florida has excellent CCW laws.
If I knew I was wanted and being HUNTED by eery cop in South FLorida......I’d wear a vest.
Heard Shep say he may have shaved after the shootings. Wonder why they think that?

They (police) found fresh shavings of a beard in his house.
Ah, I didn’t hear that. Just heard on Fox there may be another suspect involved.
Anybody could be an improvement over Alexi “Closet Queen” Penelas and Steve Clark, Alvarez’s predecessors.
Two sides of the same coin.
Both sides say wear a vest!
I’ve got a question: If the guy’s an illegal, how do they have a record of him buying 3 AK-47’s in March? How did the guy purchase them legally?
I’d heard about Penelas.
They found evidence of shaving in one of the houses right where the car was ditched. House was otherwise empty.
Obviously it might not be related to the perp.
Cops now surrounding a nearby Publix warehouse.
Deerfield Beach, Publix warehouse surrounded....
One of the biggest disappointments in local politics when I was living down there was in 2000, when Janet Reno protege Kathy Rundle narrowly beat Alberto Millian for States Attorney. Millian was winning until the "Beach vote" came in.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Several area schools on the city’s near west side are locked down after a report that shots were fired at a police officer.
Details are sketchy, but initial reports were that shots were fired from a high-powered rifle, striking a police cruiser at Avondale Avenue and West Rich Street at about 2:20 p.m., NBC 4 reported.

_______________
Yep, heard that too. I’m suspicious that there’s more to this story because of two seemingly paradoxical facts: He wore a bullet proof vest while under the influence of drugs. This combination makes me think there’s more here.
Cops in Deerfield Beach requesting heavy artillery?!
I think you’re right. For a guy who supposedly only had a couple of traffic violations, they sure were able to get 2 pictures of him out there pronto. They know the guy.
I'm rapidly coming to the same conclusion. Cops know more than they are saying. Too much info on the perp(s) too fast. This (these) guys were already on the radar despite the lack of criminal record.
