The Fertility Gap: More Christians On the Way
Town Hall.com ^ | Wednesday, September 12, 2007 | Chuck Colson

Every time you turn around, a presidential candidate whips out his Bible—or a position paper—to let us know how faithful he or she is. Senator John Edwards (D-N.C.) says God "would be happy with the fact that" he's focused on people without health care. Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) says we should "discuss religion . . . in the positive sense of what it tells us about our obligations towards one another." Republicans, also, are quick to point out how faith informs their policies.

I've been thining of this Lately; Abortion has been the downfall of the family, in the West!

Lets explore:

Before Roe v. Wade it was ~illigal~ to abort one's baby, and was NOT culturally acceptable as it is in much of the society today,

2)Once it becomes legal (and through media propoganda) acceptable to kill one's offspring, then there is the abrogation of Personal Responsibility (and the illogical De-Humanization of the Unborn),

3)Because it is acceptable (to the average jane), and no longer carries REAL world responsibility to rear a Child; Why take responsibility for sex, and for the actions that naturally come from out-of-wed lock sex when it can easily be "Fixed" with 'abortion on demand'-Let's forget the moral argument Against-Abortion..just for the moment (since I am exploring the average abort's proponents point-of-view), and I AGREE With ALL OF YA'LL THAT ABORTION IS WRONG, but On to my argument..,

4) Because no personal responsibilty now results from sex, and hence the need for (stable and loving) parents for Children: Marriage becomes LESS necessary: Conclusion:

5)Couples can now LIVE together Un-Married, and Abortion was the catalyst for the destruction of the American Traditional Family..

It's ALL a Plot; I tell you..(this is too.. 'coincidental' to be an accident, it had to be by Devious Purpose..)!

(I have Exposed 'Satan's' 'Plot'-or rather God has, through me).

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS: ??

Excuse me: I meant to say this
Before Roe v. Wade it was ~illigal~ to abort one’s baby, and was NOT culturally (Un-Acceptable) as it is in much of the society today,—

Was UNACCEPTABLE; not ‘acceptable’- Forgive my error.!

Abortion is only a very small part of the larger problem of “Generation Me” ushered in by the Baby Boomers.

Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) says we should "discuss religion . . . in the positive sense of what it tells us about our obligations towards one another."

Such as your favorite obligation (supporting partial birth abortion), Mr. Obambi?

It was not illegal across the board.
Laws varied from state to state.

Graphic TV images and propaganda from the likes of Cronkite turned Vietnam from a victory into a defeat.

Likewise, in my opinion, if enough people actually SAW the graphic results of abortions, the tide of public opinion would very quickly swing against the horrific practice.

So now we are in the middle of what one observer calls a "global baby bust"—except, that is, among devout Christian families, those who take seriously the biblical mandate to "be fruitful and multiply."

The Quiverfull movement.

Might I add that the reduction in birth rates has led to our inability to maintain a “war mentality” as well. When families were large, it was not too surprising that a member or two would choose a dangerous occupation like a military career. Now when a son does so it puts half or all of the average families progeny at risk. It may sound callous but this trend has created a “risk averse” population that would wrap their kids in bubble wrap and body armor from cradle to grave if they could.

That’s actually quite a keen observation.

The way I look at it, the Liberals have committed genocide on themselves. They have aborted all their descendants in the name of “choice,” and are now paying he price.

This is why the average age in “mainstream” churches is something like 75, while Bible-believing evangelical churches are bursting to the seams with young people and young families.

The demographic data is correct. However, there's one sticking point: not all the children of religious parents go on to be religious people themselves. As of today, that number is roughly around 59%. I'm afraid that the leftists (with their media and educational outlets) have been far more effective at evangelizing the kids of Christians than the Christians have at evangelizing the kids of lost people (or even holding their own).

Frankly, modern conservatives are blind to this reality - and are stupid to be so. It's been a long time since Ronald Reagan called for the elimination of the Dept. of Education...it's unfortunate that nobody since then has had the courage to do so.

Thank you for saying so. I’ve got a whole passel of such sociological theories. If I had the “sheepskin” for credibility, my book on “Only Child Syndrome” of which the previous is a part, would shake the pillars of academia. Instead I make sometimes pithy but more often snarky comments on websites. Ahhh wasted life....

Yes, this is the American holocaust you are discussion, one that has taken at least 47 million innocent lives. That's more than died on both sides in Vietnam plus its bloody aftermath, than died in the WOT on both sides, combined.

Why is it not therefore the ONLY issue? Do we really expect God to bless this nation with peace and victory if we oppress the poor and defenseless and exploit the fairer sex in this in inhumane way? That's right - abortion is cruel to WOMEN as well as their offspring.

Let's end it and begin healing.

I didn’t think it was even that high.

The score isn’t much better among homeschooled children.

For those of you who are brothers and sisters in the Lord, and serious about raising up a generation for Him, please read the following.
http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/topics/child-training/influences/

In short, more is caught than taught, and if you parents are not your children’s HEROS, head and shoulders above and beyond everybody else they know, then you are much more likely to lose them to the world when they are older.

And the less TV and internet, the better.
