Rosie O’Donnell used to break her own limbs with either a baseball bat or a wooden hanger when she was a child.
This revelation, as well as many about her experiences on "The View" last year, is contained in a new book she’s written due shortly called “Celebrity Detox.”
This personal memory, so shocking, is almost thrown toward the end of what is better described as a long essay than a short memoir. [snip] She broke her own bones, she recalls, “my hands and fingers usually. No one knew. It was a secret.” She used a Mets baseball bat she got on bat day or the hanger. Why? It was “proof I had some value, enough to be fixed.” She recalls that she was no longer sad about her mother’s death, but “distracted.”
Rosie also dangles another clue about her childhood in two sentences. “There were many benefits to having a cast. In the middle of the night, it was a weapon.”
Why she would need a weapon in the middle of the night is not addressed.
Most of “Celebrity Detox,” which a source supplied to me Tuesday, is about Rosie’s life — her mother, her kids, her life before and after "The View."

I hope nobody buys her “book”. If she was/is breaking her bones where is Kelly for all of this? Seems to me that the two of them are unfit to have children. Rosie is just a loud big mouthed anti American scummer. I refuse to watch anything she is on. Best thing about her being on TV is that I can turn her off. She is totally disgusting.

Rosie is pathetic, but conservatives must put her in perspective. In politics and culture, she is a nobody with little following. As a conservative, I have little antipathy for her. Rosie is a hater, but it is obvious she hates herself as well as the whole world and she is self-destructive. I save my antipathy for the likes of Bill Maher, Keith Olberdorque, and Chwissy Mathews who unlike Rosy are taken seriously by way too many people.
Her parents or guardians would have been in a lot of trouble if she kept turning up with broken limbs...
I just hope she shuts up and goes away.

First, I’d actually watch her show if I could find it, if she would pick up her old habit of breaking her limbs with a baseball bat. Hell, I’d even volunteer to take a few swings.
Second, she needs to call her book “Sympathy Whore: Finger in the Dyke”.
