My brother was supposed to be there that day. He was due to go back to home base 9/30. They let him go one month early to get his kid in school, move, etc. After 9/11, they called him back.

Bruning is AG — He is very popular with his internet porn crusade.
Hal Daub former Congressman and Omaha Mayor may run for the pubs (not much chance though)
I doubt the former gov Johannes (R) will run. He is AG Sec and hasn’t announced he is resigning yet. White House announced that those who wanted to leave should do so by Labor Day or stay for the duration. I assumed that they were talking about anyone who wanted to run for an office someplace or join a primary campaign.
Either Kerrey or Fahey (omaha mayor) will run for the Dems

Been a utterly bizarre day. On the 6th Anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in world history, politician in DC, 8000 miles from the front in Iraq, spend the day lecturing the General in Command of Iraq about what his report “should say”.
Maybe these never been anything pretentious fools should sit down and actually LISTEN to the man they demanded report to them instead of arrogantly clinging to their preconceived notions about Iraq.
