IIRC, the inch used to build the Great Pyramid is one millionth of the distance from the north pole to the plane of the equator. Just a hair longer than the British inch.

IIRC, the inch used to build the Great Pyramid is one millionth of the distance from the north pole to the plane of the equator. Just a hair longer than the British inch. That sounds fishy to me. It implies a very precise measure of the size of the earth being available in the very ancient world, something which we have no evidence of (that I'm aware of).
