“And now it finally feels strong enough to turn its attention towards us.”
No, it is not that they feel strong but they know that we are weak and afraid.
I was so sad to miss it...I was in Greece. Now that we are back I will attend as many of The Mayor’s socials as possible.
So nice to hear from you...and hope to see you soon!
Thank you for this ping, Dolly. I’m thankful to see all of the information, pictures, and video footage of September 11, 2001 here and all across the Internet.
Some, who would try to squelch it, and discourage the remembrance and commemoration of that tragic day, will not succeed in their attempts because of people like you, and Free Republic. God bless you.
We shall never forget!
you are welcome LucyJo. Thanks for dropping by & sharing your thoughts.
Beautiful thread, Dolly, thanks.
Dolly, I have gotten this far and this thread is wonderful. Had no idea that Barbara Olsen was a Freeper and I was amazed. I loved her so.......a living doll with very stron beliefs and I felt so sad for Ted when this happened........the other Freeper I was not familiar with but glad to learn he was a Freeper. This day every year puts that lump in the throat and the tears in the eyes and I will always feel that way. It is powerful every anniversary! Pictures so far are wonderful!
you are welcome AW.. glad you stopped by to check it out.
My son joined right after high school in 2004. He is now aboard the Kitty Hawk
(And thank you)
I will never forget.
I will never forgive!
I pray your son will remain safe during his service to our great country. And I completely agree with your re: honor.
Even at that age, what a mature, sweet look on her face~
Dolly, I loved those things you just posted. We all know that there are those who will never wake up....THEIR ELECTIONS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR COUNTRY AND OUR TROOPS. They are full of bull and will never wake up. I watched a lot of the hearings and was upset all day...don’t know why I punish myself sometimes~~~~
Thanks for the ping!
Yesterday I mentioned the attack to my first graders. I told them how it was so important not to forget this act of violence.
I also wore a Stars and stripes tie, white shirt, and blue pants. I was amazed how many teachers said, "I forgot..."
I think I mentioned on another thread about watching a documentary of December 29, 1940 when the Germans bombed London, England.
I thanked God for Winston Churchill back then, and President George W. Bush on 9/11/2001. And, I watched United States Democrat presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich’s recent traitorous interview on Syrian television. How very different our lives would be without the precious providence of God in lifting up leaders at such times!
The documentations commemorate the lives of those lost, and we mourn, honor, and remember them, and their loved ones; but, perhaps more importantly they remind vividly what the enemies of freedom are capable of doing to achieve their ends.
We must remain vigilant, and teach our young ones. Thank God for those who answer freedom’s call to defend, and may He bless and keep them in safety.
Just a special thank you for teaching the little ones about 9/11/2001. I was writing my post as you were posting yours. I was so glad to read it when I came back to check my own. Also, sad that teachers, of all people, FORGOT!!!
That was very sweet of you.
I feel so strongly about making the students aware of their world, and those that are defending their freedoms.
Even when we say the pledge of Allegiance, they must know that the reason they have the freedom is because of the men and women serving this country.
My brothers and sisters were taught this early on, and so I want to make sure our little ones have that same opportunity.
