Transportes Olympic or Olympic Transport trucks are now on American highways. I would imagine their drivers have been in training about our laws for at least six months. I don't expect any screw-ups from them. It is the other 99 companies that we'll have to watch out for.
Bush wants to play word games with us and deny there is a North American Union. The reporters need to ask him if there is a "North American Economic Community". I'm sure he thinks that term will be easier for us to swallow as the illegals come in by the truckload.

The trucks in the pilot program will be the best to offer. After the pilot program, standards and practices will go downhill. The teamsers, BTW, are not being honest. This ain’t about safety. This is about cheaper Mexican trucks undercutting US trucks. It’s also about smuggling.

1. They’re not “criminal invaders.” They’re Mexican truck drivers. Despite some popular opinion around here, I see a huge distinction. And our elected representatives made it legal for them to cross our border. Personally, I support that policy and doing so does not make one “anti-American.”
2. I agree with ulm1’s position that it’s the unions, particularly the Teamsters Union, that is trying to spread fear in order to maintain their monopoly on trucking. I say, screw the Teamsters and support non union workers.
