I served in the Army. I didn't serve during a war. But even then when I was a long way away from home, it sure was great receiving letters from home. Please pass these videos below along. Maybe folks will get the idea to send a letter (or email) from home to a Soldiers who enables you to sleep in peace at night.
I want you all to know something too:
Our Troops put rucksacks sacks on their back that dig into your back while you march. They have helmets and body armor on in temperatures that are over 100 degrees. You can drink two gallons of water and not take one leak. These men and women are sacrificing for me and you and I don't hear them moan about it. They have answered the call of our Nation. They have answered John F Kennedy's immortal words,
"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty"
Our Troops are doing this for our kids, so they wont have to do it one day. They do it for an Iraqi kid who does not have to live in fear of Soddam Hussein's wood chipper. Now, Iran and others would love to try to gain power in Iraq. Our Troops are fighting to keep Iraqi girls from wearing a burka one day. They are fighting to keep a taliban (I will not capitalize their name) type like government from taking over in Iraq (and we all know what the taliban and al qeada did).
I have one more thing to say:
We debated this war before we went. Congress voted and we went (remember John Kerry voted for the war before he voted against it). We will have plenty of time to debate it when it is over. While we have boots on the ground, I suggest we all show some resolve. Quit listening to the quitters in the media, demoratic party, and some RINOs. We must show our enemy and our new friends resolve. Our Troops in Vietnam did not lose that war. We the people lost it because we listened to the Commie anti war protesters. Well, I say pick up a weapon and stand a post here at home (I don't mean a literal weapon like an M16, I mean a spiritual, intellectual weapon and a pen and/or keyboard). I go out to web pages who support the war and I get news from the military rather then listening to the liberal media all the time. This gives me the other side of the story. I let folks I know who are there know that I support their efforts. I also have gone and am going again to Washington DC to show support for the war. You don't have to go that far (it would be nice though), but a letter from home would work great.
Now, all I ask is that you let folks who are over there fighting al qeada and Iranian insurgents who are training Iraqis to kill our troops know that you support their efforts. Let them know that you will not waver, tire, falter, or fail. The person who loses the will to fight first loses. Let them know that we will not allow another Vietnam again. Don't let people like Hanoi Jane turn into Jihad Jane. Stand your post and let your Troops know that you got their six.
Send some letters from home:

Unreal. They spew out their vile garbage and name calling but give them a taste of their own medicine and they go berserk.
Thank you for the support Vinnie!!
You know how much the Troops appreciate it!
I am going to DC to march against the hippies dirt bags. I put together a anti-hippie liberal medical kit in case one touches me. Clorox wipes, 3 OZ of Bleach, big can of Lysol, and a quart of Solvent Degreaser.
Thank you for your service in Vietnam. It is greatly appreciated.
These are the people who I will be protesting against:
and
In March, some hippy walked by me with a white flag that had a peace sign on it. I said, "look, it is the footprint of the American Chicken (referring to his peace sign). He stopped and said, "are you calling me a chicken". I took a step towards him so I could get my message across and said, 'yes and you better move on dot org'. He looked around and found himself nearly surrounded by a battalion of Troop Supporters. He took my advice and moved on dot org. A little later I turned around and this lady was standing behind me:
lol. Those folks definitely have a monopoly on looking like freaks. Give them some hell for me too.
Consider it done and my pleasure!
this is unreal - it needs to be on You Tube for wider distribution - let people see just what jackasses are in control of our country. They acted like a pack of baboons.
The Speaker gaveled them silent - and ordered them to “suspend” - but he also ordered her to ‘suspend’ and then what is that word-over at the end saying something about being disciplined for the words???
REid, Pelosi, et al can call our President and everyone else any vile name they want - Murtha can stand there and call our troops murders - and no ‘discipline’ - help me out here, why am I not understanding?
I am a new member of Operation ac and Soldiers angles!! WOOHOO!!
You understand! It is not you. It is the commie traitors in our media, in the demoratic party and even some RINOs in the Republican Party. Don't you go blaming yourself for their commie treasonous actions.
We are at war and a person can not stand in strong support of the war and use strong language? You are right, they do it all the time. Sad thing is the spineless Republicans won't stand up against them in some cases. Where is the Zell Miller Democrat? Where is the John F Kennedy Democrat who said "Let every Nation know"?
It aint us, maine. It is the freaks who will make the 60s look like the 50s, if they had it their way.
Good idea!
Welcome to Soldirs Angels and Op AC, dhue!
And thank you for serving our country!! You guys are my rock stars/heroes!
God Bless.
And thanks to you. You inspired me to join up!
Great~
I get one off to my grandson -Airborne Task Force, Afghanistan - every 2-4 weeks.
Some of the things m ost useful - wet wipes and gum - Not a lot of access to water for showers and brushing teeth (NOTE: make sure gum is NOT sugar-free! ARtificial sweeteners, like Aspartame, can be deadly in hot weather = research it! - and High Fructose Corn Syrup is not an innocent, natural ingredient but a man made concoction that is finally being recognized for the poison it is (GOOGLE "High Fructose Corn Syrup banned" and you'll go back to sugar. Read the ingredients on anything that has a sweetener in it and opt for sugar, the least damaging.
I also send candy - with sugar - that won't melt in the 100+ heat, like gummy bears, licorice, hard candy.
Insect repellent is vital - the sand flies can cause serious medical problems. NO AERESOL - cannot send aerosol cans in mail. There is also a great repellent they can use on their clothes, called Permethrin

They also love books to read - (My grandson is catching up on the Classics ) paperback editions as they wont be able to hang onto them from place to place. They read and pass on. (I buy mostly on Amazon, taking advantage of their "new and used" for pennies on the dollar.Another really useful thing: zip-lock baggies! Keeps the bugs and the fine sand powder out of things.
I also look for silly little things just for chuckles - like one, I sent one of those tiny little hand held fans that run on a AA battery. I'm sure it doesn't do much against the oppressive heat - but good for a laugh.
socks and underwear - dark color only: green, blue, brown, black. And my grandson said he had no pillow - I sent a travel pillow - easier to carry around.
These are some of the things they can use - and FAMILY PHOTOS, for sending to the ones you know.
But there are always some troops without families or anyone to get boxes/mail from. They need to know we care!
Last year we sent letters and gift bags to the troops guarding the terrorist at Club Gitmo.
We also sent some cards and gift bags to a platoon in Iraq.
HEAR HEAR!!
Great post and useful too!
Thank you
