Another piece of trash I will not be watching.
So easy to want to trash our troops and cause by a Leftie Director.
Why didn't this guy make a movie about the brutality and crimes of Saddam and his sons? The things they did, particularly the sons, is almost beyond comprehension.

For the same reason that no Hollywood people will make anything that even borders on an anti Islam theme. They are afraid. What a bunch of wussies.

I'm reminded of that New Yorker drawing, where they show what America looks like to liberals... You've got the east cost, especially New York, and the west coast, with LA and SF, and there's this little blank area in between...

Well, I imagine a drawing of Europe, where you've got Great Britain to the west, and Poland to the east, and nothing of interest in between. At least as far as being friends to America!

I wonder what awards a film showing UN personnel raping civilians would win. None. It wouldn’t get shown.

DePalma's career is in bad shape. His last movie "The Black Dahlia" was an expensive flop. He hasn't had a real hit since 1993's "Carlito's Way". And he hasn't been close to winning an award since "The Untouchables", twenty years ago.

What's the surest way to get your career back on track? Make an anti-American, anti-troop "film" that every leftist will embrace.

DePalma also made another anti-American, anti-troop film in 1990, "Casualites of War" with Sean Penn. What was the plot? US soliders rape a Vietnamese woman, kill her and try to cover it up.

He's a hack.

For the same reason that no Hollywood people will make anything that even borders on an anti Islam theme. They are afraid. What a bunch of wussies.

Case in point: the deplorable "Sum of All Fears", where the villains were changed from Islamofascists to neo-Nazis. I'm disappointed in Tom Clancy that he allowed his excellent book to be turned into this unbelievable, politically correct mishmash. (Additionally, Ben Affleck stunk up the place big-time.)

Brian De Palma wins Best Director award at Venice with 'Redacted'

To win an important award in Hollywood or anywhere where the leftists rule, all that's needed is an anti-American theme. But, to be assured of winning all of the film and documentary awards in any one season, all that's needed is for someone to make an anti-American film or documentary that also includes heavy anti-Republican and anti-Bush sentiments.

The most watched film of all time, that would bring in the most left-leaning viewers, would be one showing bin-Laden and Bush/Cheny/Rove, planning the 9/11 attacks. The moveon.org and the dailykos crowds and the entire loony left would probably go back to see such a film at least 10 times.

The reason the leftist director didn’t make a movie about Saddam and his sons portraying them as the rapist murderers that they were is because he is twisted. These people don’t believe in God, so nothing is off limits for them, not even telling lies about good Americans who are serving their country. It’s because the left is in the habit of accusing their enemies of what they are guilty of. It’s becoming their form of a mental illness, it has become such a habit that it has now morphed into mental illness fueled by their hate of God and everything that is good. It’s scary!

Good grief, what a sissified crowd.

They are so afraid of the headchoppers they refuse to make a film about them, and instead make a film about something that cannot, would not, and does not want to hurt them.

REAL MEN in Hollywood, please stand up!

....yep....and I also expect that they have an eye on world wide distribution potential....let’s face it, if you come from the anglo-european, judeo-christian culture you only represent 15% of the world’s population and trending down.....the Muslim world is exploding population wise....I expect DePalma will do big box office bucks in the Arab world and will simultaneously be lionized by French cafe society and American academics.

Bill OReilly took on some lib arguing for this film, and did a really good job. He kept talking about how FDR would never have tolerated this, and didn’t she see how this helped our enemies.

At the end he kept saying, When are they going to make a movie about our heroic troops doing a wonderful job? Where’s that movie? She had no answer.
