Republicans if they are Republicans will not offer up a candidate for the job of President of the United States who does not know the difference between legal and illegal.

The whole of our constitutional agreement with those who govern us is predicated on the inviolate concept of legality.

If the Republican Party mandates a candidate who ignores this fundamental aspect of our agreement with those who are to govern, then to hell with the Republican Party.

,,,,,but he needs to be taken out before we even reach that point!!!

I agree. Liberals like Giuliani (and all his liberal buddies) need to be kept as FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE!!!

If you feel that the Republican Party is just NOT LIBERAL ENOUGH,,,

and you want to accelerate that movement to the LEFT even more,,,

a liberal like Rudy is JUST THE MAN FOR THE JOB!!!

Tancredo also wrote about illegals not being a crime, ie, felony.

Rudy just (unknowingly) dropped out of the race with that position on illegal immigration.

We can add THAT to his video as mayor demanding using our tax dollars for FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ABORTION!! As if we needed another reason to oppose him!! geeez

and should not be a crime!

So, invasion is a civil right?

The ChiComs will be happy to hear that.

I'm sure a few hundred million "immigrants" from them will do the trick quite nicely.

The trick being how to take over a country without firing a shot.

As the primaries draw ever closer, I’m getting concerned.

Don't worry, even if Rudy wins the primaries, the MSM is going to bury him. People don't know the real Rudy only the 9/11 Rudy that the MSM has nurtured and spoonfed to the sheeple. They'll be turned off by Rudy's failed marriages, his support for abortion, homosexual rights, gun control, and open borders. A 3rd party conservative candidate will surely materialize.

Rudy support is all media-driven by Vannity and the rest of the lapdogs at Faux News.

Its about time someone running for the GOP nomination starts calling out Rooty Toot for his liberalism.

FredT started with the gun rights issue. Now he’s challenging Rooty Toot on his liberal immigration stance. Can’t wait to hear FredT challenge Rooty on his support for abortion on demand.

Go FRed go!

Even someone as LIBERAL as Hillary or Obama haven't tried to make that claim that being an ILLEGAL alien is not illegal???

What's Rudy trying to do? Show that he is even MORE LIBERAL and FURTHER TO THE LEFT than they are? geeez

Maybe he SHOULD be competing in the Democratic primaries. Unbelievable.

Rudy did nothing more than accurately state the law on ILLEGAL PRESENCE. He was not talking about ILLEGAL ENTRY, which is a misdemeanor on the first offense.

Tancredo also opposes criminalizing illegal presence and says most Republicans voted against doing so. As tempting as it sounds to criminalize everyone who is in the country illegally, it would actually make it harder to get them out of here.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and get the facts. Criminalizing illegal presence sounds good till you find out what it really means. Think of all the protections that our criminal justice system gives to crooks and you’ll start to get the idea of the kind of disaster it could be.

He didn't say it is not illegal. He said it's a CIVIL matter, which it is. Deportation hearings are handled as civil matters. He believes that it should stay that way and he is right. Criminalizing illegal presence is not workable. We don't have enough jails or criminal courts, and it would make it much harder to remove people because the rules and standards of proof are much tougher in criminal courts than in civil courts.

Again, he was not talking about crossing the border illegally. You can see this if you read the transcript. Illegal entry is already a crime although that too is often handled as a civil matter because of the resources problem.

Rudy,,,and his apologists can take a hike with that 'legal clarification'

Conservatives know what is right,,,and what is wrong,,,without Rudy's legal parsing and clarifications.

I'm sure that conservatives everywhere really appreciate Rudy 'clearing that confusion up' for us...LOL

So you are saying that Tancredo’s position on illegal immigration is likewise unacceptable to conservatives because, like Rudy, he has opposed criminalizing illegal presence in the U.S.?

“What’s Rudy trying to do? Show that he is even MORE LIBERAL and FURTHER TO THE LEFT than they are? geeez”

That’s what I’ve wondered. Why say anything, or even enter into such a conversation because that little technical point is irrelevant to the larger illegal alien/border enforcement debate now taking place.

Or maybe his true, long-held liberal position on the subject just came forth naturally, without his thinking it through. Once more voters start paying closer attention to the campaigns in two or three months, I think Rudy will begin to sink as conservatives contemplate his past liberal positions on so many important issues.

I don’t support Tancredo so I have no comment. I just hope that Rudy makes that same ‘clarification’ of the legal nuances at the next debate. I’m sure he’ll make lots of ‘points’ with that one...lol

Many arguments have been held over whether aliens being here illegally is a crime. Both sides have legitimate points. Crossing the border is a civil offense, therefore not a crime. The more emotional argument usually follows that illegal is ILLEGAL, and rightfully and morally it is a crime etc. Personally, I lean to the emotional argument for what that’s worth.

For me the point is that illegal colonists CAN AND SHOULD BE DEPORTED, or allowed to leave on their own, yesterday. It is up to us, the American citizens, to keep pressure on our so called leaders to remove illegals and close the border. Then they can get it right on legal immigration.

If I recall Rudy’s message correctly, he favored closing the borders. I do not recall if he favored deportation en masse except to say he thought it would be “impossible” as making them criminals would overwhelm law enforcement and judicial systems. In other words, no more but no less too quickly.

Lol, I was thinking almost the same thing when I came across your post. Yep, Rudy should definitely use as much debate time as possible from here on out to explain, technically, why it isn’t illegal for illegal aliens to be in the US. I know all the voters, especially those who oppose amnesty and want the borders enforced, are just dying to hear his legalese, technical, lawyerly, mumbo jumbo on this issue lol.

Take all the time you need, Rudy.

He should also take plenty of time to explain why the amnesty in the recent shamnesty bill wasn’t really amnesty. People are also dying to hear that talked about some more, lol.

And while he’s at it, he should try again to explain his contorted, twisted views on the Second Amendment, homosexuals, dressing in drag, abortion, and supporting people like Mario Cuomo and Jim FLorio - both far left Demcorats, against Republican candidates.
