I've had many one-on-one meetings with doctors of the opposite gender. Obviously, neither of us suffered these fears.
Can you imagine a spouse, adult child or friend sitting in on every visit one might make to a psychiatrist/psychologist?
I can reasonably assume your husband doesn't work in the medical field.

I thought he'd NEVER come out...he was in there so long. I watched men go in, some leave. I opened the door a crack and called my grandson. No answer. Frankly, (regretfully) I became frantic. Why? Fear for his safety. I went to a restaurant employee and asked for a man to go in and check on my little guy.
All was well. He had more to do than just urinate.
Was I behaving like an hysterical grandparent? Maybe. But this is an example of how passionate we will be to protect our little ones.

Why didn’t you just go in with him? My son is 10, and he doesn’t go alone. Sometimes I even have to take my daughter when mommy is wandering about the store.

I like how you present your personal bias as fact. When my girls are frightened or hurt, they come to me first. When my soccer kids are hurt they run to me, not their mother on the side of the field. You need to reconsider this idea you have about men being scary people.
Secondly, of course if some kid is in a dire situation, i.e. about to run into an eight-lane highway, a guy should intervene by himself.
Well its a relief to know that you at least consider imminent death to be a greater danger than a random male off the street.

What we are discussing is teaching kids who to go to for help when lost, etc.
Why would a man with kids be more dangerous than woman with kids? And wouldn't a man and woman with kids be the least dangerous of all?
