And the BAD news is————? I find none except that the retirement is not immediately effective.

Chuck Hagel will announce Monday that he is retiring from the U.S. Senate and will not run for president next year, people close to the Nebraska Republican said Friday.
Enjoy your retirement Chuckie. Watch out for poachers!

Great news .. made my day !!! As his constituent .. I would like to think that I had something to do with helping him make this decision. I called his office constantly to complain.
He called our house about 3 months ago, and wanted to know if he could come by and visit us. In other words, he wanted my husband and I to each give him $1000. I told him "NO. In fact, we are going to contribute to ANYONE who runs against you".
Apparently enough of us said this .. and he got the message. WooWoo!!

Now I can quit hammering his office with email and calls on how happy we GOPers would be if Hagel quit.
One less RINO to contend with now.
