Hagel retires on the eve of the Petraeus report, the first U.S. victim of the successful surge in Iraq.

Hopefully we can get a real Republican in here and not a RINO.

Chuck is one of those political leaders who marches to a drummer of his own, Colin Powell, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former secretary of state, said several years ago.He moistened his finger and held it in the wind. Through no fault of his own, the wind shifted.

After my glee has subsided, I had a thought...
We all thought he took the anti war position because he wanted to keep his cushy job and get re-elected. That wasn’t the case. Now I don’t know what to think.

God Almighty cyborg, the punishment should fit the crime. That was very harsh, extreme overkill.

Things are finally looking up for Nebraska and America.
Now, for a few more RINO’s to exit, stage anything they like, just exit!

He’s the logical Dem. I wonder what’s up with Hagel... afraid of being outed, maybe. I wonder if he is one the list of 33...

Actually, it opens up the race for Republicans.
We know Bruning is running. Heineman might run as might Shane Osborn and plenty of other Republicans.
To: Eric Blair 2084
Maybe his internal polls had shown that the good people of Nebraska did not agree with his antiwar position. Since he already had Republican opposition, maybe he was afraid that he would not be reelected - a la John Edwards of my own great state of NC who decided against running again after just one term.
