His beard used to be gray, and is now black?
If he’s alive, which I doubt, he would be getting older, not younger.
Unless he’s the Anti-Christ.
Hmmmm.

Will the networks show it?
I mean, Binny’s new home video will probably be Goat Porn or something.

"his beard, which in previous messages had been streaked with gray, was entirely dark." Will it include a commercial for Grecian Formula 16?
Those of us into opera call that behavior "Doing a Pavarotti." Particularly if the eyebrows also get the treatment.

It’ll be out a lot sooner than “The Path to 9/11”. Don’t want to hurt hitlery’s election chances, ya know.

Wow. Impressive. It only takes a few billion dollars of oil money and 6 years of the 21st century and anyone, even a throwback from the stone ages, can get a cam corder.

Terror mastermind Osama bin Laden plans a new video addressing the American people regarding the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, terror monitoring groups said Thursday. SITE Intelligence Group said an Internet announcement of the plan included a photo of the al-Qaida leader from the upcoming videohis beard, which in previous messages had been streaked with gray, was entirely dark.
OK, there are a couple of things wrong with this. First, bin Ladin comes up short as far as masterminds go. He's largely outsourced management of operations to his lieutenants and the like--higher echelon commanders like Khalid Sheikh devised and articulated the plans; bin Ladin just approved them. For the most part, he's like a decrepit symbol for the young Turks to draw inspiration from.
Second, while there may be an upcoming "gift" on the anniversary of Tuesday, September 11th, a terrorist attack is questionable. Historically, the Muslims tend to strike on anniversaries of attacks against them. Expect a full-blown terrorist strike between the first week of October and the third week next March if there is to be one. That isn't to say that copycat Islamic groups won't play on our underlying fears of an attack--it just won't be to al-Qaida standards, i.e., simultaneous attacks inflicting mass casualties in the thousands, tens of thousands, or even, hundreds of thousands.
Third, bin Ladin isn't a billionaire hiding out in a cave. We've managed to dry up a lot of the fundraising arms of al-Qaida. Phony charities and fundraising scams, by the way, account for most of al-Qaida's cash.
The thing about Bin Ladin & Co. is that they've learned how to conduct hardcore psychological warfare, and the timing couldn't be better.

Articulate and insightful post. I wonder who this round of psychological profile will benefit though.
I know UBL was rooting for Kerry and thought he could scare us into voting for him. The problem is that he only reminded us that the WOT is the most important issue we face and we couldn’t trust a Dem. with that responsibility.
If he starts talking like a cut and run traitorcrat it could also backfire on them as the Iraq report comes in on the 15th.
I don’t think we will get hit but they will sure as hell do more huffing-and-puffing via the propaganda main stream media.
I know how remote and treacherous the mountains of Pakistan are but this guy truly is a ghost. His picture should be in the dictionary under boogeyman. And further frustrating the matter is the fact that none of those opium farmers can appreciate the monumental reward they can receive.
They can BUY their 72 virgins in the UAE and never have to worry about working that plow again.

The War on Islamic Terrorism is the lynchpin of our foreign policy, to date--as it ought to be. I am no big supporter of President Bush, but this thing must be won, and won decisively. The upcoming report will be spun by cynical, opportunistic politicians and media hacks, and few of us are going to take a truly objective look at it. My opinion? I think the General will say that we've made very promising military advances in Iraq, though political gains may be wanting. That's fine. We don't need to discount the progress we've made in one area by pointing to the lack of it in another. Maliki may well be a puppet of Iran, for all I know. We'll roll with the punches.

Mainstream media will, I guarantee this, turn the perceived threat into a multifarious series of stories about how we really aren't that safe against terrorism--of course, because of George Bush and his administration.
Hey, maybe the Taliban could give up this whole Jihad thing and go skiing in Dubai? Pleasure to talk to you, Dvl.

In the UK, Channel 4 is airing Fahrenheit 9/11 on the anniversary. Pretty insulting to Americans.

I’m not sure if the video they showed on Fox is the “new” one, or an old one (which would explain his darker beard).
