Maybe he needs to read the report out saying that CNN doctored the reports on the Marines in Haditha. I trust al Queida as much as I do their reliable reporting. The liberal establishment could not exist without a dumb down population.

Yet his skepticism is evidenced by a longer list of drawbacks such as bias, conflicts of interest, and credibility or the possibility of promoting certain agendas.

This is a case of the Pot calling the Kettle...

replace the more reliable mainstream reporting.

Research Guidelines:
  1. Determine conclusion.
  2. Gather evidence.
  3. Match evidence with conclusion.
  4. Discard opposing evidence.
  5. Present report.

Maybe if the mainstream media reported on the Paul v Clinton case, I could spend more time in my commercial real estate business.

“Citizen” journalists? Are there now “official”, non-citizen journalists? Answer; yes, of course that is how they think of themselves. They believe they are above and beyond citizenship, a self elevated class of people who consider themselves the arbiters of the American political agenda.

These punks fresh out of a second rate college, with a 3rd rate education are filled with a sense of empowerment over the citizen.

How can our government be of, by and for the people (citizen) when there is a specially educated, specially indoctrinated, uniformly indoctrinated writer conveying the status and activity of the government to the people.

Don’t forget the doctored war photos published by Reuters and the phony non-existant source used by AP for a false story about Iraquis setting themselves on fire.

CNN received over 6,000 such reports in July alone and in the case of the I-35 bridge collapse in Minnesota photos submitted online comprised a majority of the cable network’s initial coverage of the disaster.

And I'll bet there wasn't an exploding gas tank, fabricated quote, imaginary source, or Photoshopped outrage anywhere in those 6,000 submissions.

These punks fresh out of a second rate college, with a 3rd rate education are filled with a sense of empowerment over the citizen.

Nice generalization! Guess that makes me a "former" punk who went to a second-rate college and has a third-rate education!

If you want to be specific with your criticism about journalist working at national media outlets, then the shoe probably fits and the criticism is warranted!

But if you are implying that some kid fresh out of one of our "second-rate" colleges here in Texas, working at your local daily, your local weekly, or your local television station is a punk because they are trying to make a living using their "third-rate" education, then you need a serious break from the computer!

My generalization is dead on.

i don’t have a clue who you or most of the local writers are, they dont control any news of national/global political significance. but if those that are alums of the same journalism colleges that the national media proclaim to be so superior (columbia , northwest et al...) then my generalization applies to them also for those degrees only. (generalization i emphasize)

[As for Texas, i’m an alum of 2 Texas universities, with my kids attending 2 other Texas universities. wouldnt go anywhere else, undergrad.]

“Atkins is concerned that the rapid increase of citizen journalism will eventually replace the more reliable mainstream reporting.”

Journalists are concerned that the rapid increase of citizen journalism will eventually expose them for the lying propagandists they are and take their jobs.

“Atkins is concerned that the rapid increase of citizen journalism will eventually replace the more reliable mainstream reporting.”

Or — more and more readers will turn to citizen journalism — I guess he means bloggers — who report what they witness — plain and simple.

You know, the way journalists used to do!

Now, at least, he’s getting close to the reason why the MSM is losing readers and viewers.

About the only thing the MSM does well anymore is insult the reader’s intelligence with its “unbiased reporting.”
