But Huckabee put Ron Paul in his place on the issue, so he serves a purpose being there.

Is that really how you saw it? I saw Huckabee proving on national TV that he is just a farcicle RINO like McCain and the others. Preaching the corrupt party line. He sounded just like Giuliani glossing over the issue with "patriotic" diatribe.

Chris Wallace has my vote:

Are you saying, [Mr. Paul], that we should take our marching orders from al Qaeda?

Let us say you are correct about quicksand, blablabla...
However it will make no difference if for some reason Paul was elected president, you’d be facing east five times a day wondering why you thought national defense was not important.

Agree. McCain has screwed up several times since he keeps bringing up his record. Torture, immigration, CFR and there was another coalition of Senators that I'm forgetting.

I appreciate his service to his country but I won't vote for him.

Why do you put patriotic in scare quotes? Are you against expressing love for America?

And btw the republicans are not corrupt, not by a mile. They are far far better than the Democrats and it is smear to bash Republicans that way.

I just wish freepers would bash Democrats as much as they bash Republicans

Why do you put patriotic in scare quotes?

Because it kind of reminded me of a scene in Animal House when Stratton made this crazy non sequitor speech at their expulsion hearing that ended up being about bad mouthing the country, and before the council could respond they all started humming the "Star Spangled Banner" as they filed out of the courtroom. Giuliani does the same thing when he doesn't want to respond to a difficult question.

I just wish freepers would bash Democrats as much as they bash Republicans

Democrats are so out of line that it would be redundant to bash them-they are completely lost causes. I can't speak for all Freepers, but I am angry about being abandoned by my party.

So have you enjoyed your first 90 days here on FR?

People are exactly the same throughout history and FR looks the same as when I joined. It is all in the eyes of the spectacles.

Ron Paul looked like someone I wouldn’t want to have with a nuclear trigger in his hand. Reminded me of Gene Hackman in Crimson Tide. Principaled but scary when bigger issues are on the line.

I need prudence in the presidency, not prematurity.

Ron Paul on Hannity and Combs after the debate, this is pretty good:

Yep. And on top of it, Thompson started out his Iraq answer on Leno by ticking off a list of things we’d have to put up with if we’d left Saddam in place. Romney’s going to look like a fool if he stays on this tack, especially if the surge continues to have results this good.

You know what’s really fun? Paul’s fans on FR will tell you they’re the only ones who really understand the danger of jihad. To a man, they all think Mr. cut-and-run will be the toughest terror warrior you could ever imagine.

Being an Air Force doctor is not "military credentials" for the purpose of being commander-in-chief, and I say that as a proud Air Force veteran whose job was also nominally non-combat.

Oh, and then there's the whole thing where he wants to cede the battlefield to Al Qaida. Paul has the military credentials of either Mussolini or Benedict Arnold, depending on how kind one is.

None of the other candidates are talking about the real issues facing America,

Like the terribel shortage of shrimp marketing funds.

Who’s going to “make a show” of debating Paul next ?

They're practicing for when they debate Hillary. Her position on the war is as insane as Paul's.

When McCain landed in North Vietnam after bailing out of his A-4, despite the fact that we were complying with all Geneva protocols, he was bayoneted in the groin before being tortured for years.

You'd think a guy who went through that would get it.

BTW, Ron Paul is leading in the polls.

Gee...would those be scientific polls, or Internet polls that his little cut-and-run soldiers can spam?

Never mind, I already know the answer. Oh, and thanks for teaching me a new phrase, I now know that "neocon no-nothing" means a person who doesn't want to lose to Al Qaida and Iran. Wiser folks like you want to not only lose to them, but lose to both of them in the same week. Tasty pick.

"Saving face" at the expense of our sons and daughters who are dying to save face for those POS-are you kidding me?

I hate to use the "I" word, but only an idiot would believe the only reason we want to avoid ceding Iraq to Alqaida and/or Iran is "to save face." Fortunately, neither you or Dr. Paul will ever be President.

Regardless of what you think of Paul, he has a formidable campaign.

Yep, that's why he's being left in the dust by a guy who wasn't even in the race before tonight. That's why he's being beaten by a number of people who will also never be President or even come close.

If you want to claim this fruitcake is our best choice that's bizarre enough, but to claim he's a "dangerous" candidate and not mean his Benedict Arnold/Mussolini war strategy...that's just nuts.
