Yes, one would assume that she would have a backup copy. As much as I distrust the Clintons, this may be BS, but thought it would be interesting to see how it plays out.
Nothing should be assumed to be beyond the Clintons. Sure, this sounds like a publicity stunt, but it also sounds like the Clintons trying to get some insight into whatever new shocking revelations are about to be published so that they can get ahead of it. After all, it was Hillary who invented “The War Room”. She knows that scandal memoirs are in the publishing stage and she’s going to have to have some answers... So what better way to anticipate the “questions” than to steal a manuscript. JMHO.
I imagine the purpose wasn’t to prevent the book’s publication so much as a chance to get ahead of the story and plan a defense.
