Herndon weighs day-labor options after court ruling(Va)

The Herndon Town Council and town attorney met in closed session last night to discuss legal options after a Fairfax County Circuit Court decision last week declaring the town's anti-solicitation ordinance unconstitutional.

The council also was scheduled to discuss a resolution authorizing the town to temporarily operate a day-laborer site at an estimated cost of $11,000 per month after the contract of the center's current operator, Reston Interfaith, expires Sept. 14.

It was not clear whether last week's ruling would alter the town's plans to temporarily run the Herndon Official Workers Center while town officials seek a new operator that will check workers' legal status.

Town spokeswoman Anne Curtis said yesterday afternoon that the resolution up for discussion had not changed because of the ruling. The details of the council's closed meeting with town attorney Richard B. Kaufman would not be disclosed to the public, she said.

Reston Interfaith and its program that runs the center, Project Hope and Harmony, do not verify employment eligibility of the laborers.

Again another court ruling in favor of anti-American illegals. Its time for governments to follow the US Consititution and ignore liberal courts.

This anti-American pro illegal alien nonsense needs to stop

Every public official who has a ruling against them like this should stand up in front of the cameras and just say.....okay, now enforce it.

But then be prepared to back it up and fight very very dirty. If they lock your accounts, find a way to lock theirs (the judges/courts), if they send State to arrest you, have you allies prepared to arrest them, etc.

It should be illegal for illegal immigrants to solicit work, because that work would be illegal.

But to stop that by making ALL solicitations for work illegal may be too much, at least that’s what this court ruled.

I tend to dislike laws that make otherwise acceptable behavior illegal simply because it’s easier than stopping the actual illegal behavior you want to stop.

Without the will to win, losing is most certainly the final result.

Ask Mayor Daley for instructions on how to win.

Fighting dirty is clear evidence you have the will to win. Polite meetings is evidence that you are afraid to fight dirty and willing to lose.

So, now we have County Circuit Court judges declaring the simplest of laws "unconstitutional".

Judicial nullification is nowhere to be found in either the national constitution nor any state constiution.

Yet even courts with the most limited standards and jurisdictions find it within their power to nullify virtually any law In Toto.

When do the impeachments begin?
