I hope their “civil rights” were not violated. There needs to be an investigation into whether their privacy was violated with warrantless wiretaps.

I dunno. Does the Federal Republic of Germany have a Federal Constitution that limits government as our does? Methinks not. From what I remember of the Poleizi (sp?) back during my active duty days, the rubber hose was standard patrol car issue.

I’m no expert but from what I remember about the Munich Olympics incident, the Federal Govt of Germany was extremely restricted as to what it could do in regards to the operations of the local government.

So if they haven’t changed their system since then,, then I think their govt is indeed restricted.
