Has De Palma ever even made a good movie? I know some of them are entertaining but most of them are Hitchcock rip-offs.

I went to IMDB to check out what movies he had directed. The Untouchables was the only good one listed. I guess Scarface was liked by some. The Bonfire of the Vanities - yeah right. Mission to Mars was a big let down.
And of course Mission Impossible had another leftist message. The character Jim Phelps, played by Peter, "You ever seen a grown man naked?"*, Graves, was played by Jon Voight in DePalma's version and revealed in the end of the movie to have been a traitor all along. That's like making a sequel to the movie True Grit, with a different actor playing Marshall "Rooster" Cogburn and portraying him as a back-shootin' coward.
Found this comment elsewhere on the net ...Phelps' betrayal in the film upset some die hard fans of the original television series. Peter Graves turned down the role of Jim Phelps in the movie because he viewed the Phelps character as a patriot, not a traitor (Phelps was instead portrayed by Jon Voight in the film).
* From the movie "Aiplane".

Were you directing that to me?

No. I used your link to register and make a comment of my own. The top two lines were added to my comments by the site. The rest is what I posted there.
I left the added lines in, so you’d know I posted.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the link. I read the responses there and whew, DePalma was ripped to shreds over there. He deserved it.

No problem...I didn’t think so but wanted to be sure.
Take care.

When did the Academy honor Riefenstahl apart from including in a list of significant people who died the previous year?

Actually Allen finds it increasingly difficult to get financing in Hollywood. His recent work has been financed by the BBC.

One of my favorite Hitchcock films (out of many) is FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT. The leader of a “peace” group turns out to be a Nazi trying to disarm the free world. Love it!
