The imbecile should have damn well hired a lawyer and gone after the cop. If he really believed the charges against him were that tenuous then there is absolutely
no excuse for failing to get good legal representation. A quality lawyer could have gotten the charges thrown out. But instead Craig enters a guilty plea seven weeks later and hopes that whole mess will simply disappear.
If you are going to fight any charges against you then you must never cop a guilty plea in the first place. That's Introduction to Law 101.
Now Specter has convinced the imbecile that he should reconsider his resignation. Sh*t, Specter must truly despise his own party. With Pubbies like Arlen, why do we even need Democrats...?

Specter, Hatch and Condit all look like they are into creepy kinky things. They just
look perverted. Ish.
I'm starting to wonder how many freaks are in Congress. Fifty percent? Eighty percent?

You are right...most people in the private sector would choose that path. This guy has a lot to lose. Take it to trial...major media. Probably would have been forced to resign either way.
It seems to be a lose, lose either way. Perhaps he tried to make a calculated decision. As I stated earlier, I am not trying to defend him. It is indeed a great way to set someone up though. No?
