I don’t think Craig should stay, I doubt he can be reelected, but it’s a shame the GOP is so cowardly. They could have said he did something wrong, but shouldnt resign over an allegation of attempted gay sex, unless Barney, Teddy and a lot of others are leaving with him.

What allegation? Craig ADMITTED TO IT. He tried to pull rank as a Senator, then he ttried to make it go away. he's only sorry he got caught. I could care less he's gay. I hate the fact he's one of the self important bible banging Mr Morality types on one hand while on the other he's cruising dirty airport toilets for anonymous sex cheating on his wife. But worse, he pleaded guilty, THEN tried to cover it up.

No matter how you slice it, it's very poor judgement, and there is no room in the Senate for a felon.

What does staying in office have to do being with re-elected? Everyone on this forum acts like there's some law saying he HAS to run for re-election if he doesn't resign.

Craig can simply opt NOT to run for re-election and serve out his term until January 2009. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that he should have to "resign immediately" when DemocRAT Congressman, like William Jefferson, who have done far worse things are allowed to disgrace the office.

And for the life of me, I can't figure out why freepers think Craig has to step down immediately due to the fact he's probably unelectable two years from now.
