In the arrest interview audio, Karsnia tells Craig that he (Karsnia) does not call the media about these matters. He did not say he could control the actions of all the police, prosecutor and court personnel who see that arrest report.
You are correct. I should have said that the cop tried to deceive Craig into believing that he could avoid publicity by pleading guilty. The cop's statements don't quite rise to the level of an outright lie.
