All that said, I have never even remotely come close to my foot touching the foot of a guy in the next stall. I'm sure most people's universal experience in this regard helped sink Craig. It just doesn't happen - accidentally.

I think I speak for all of us guys who can honestly say that if some dude's foot touched mine intentionally and repeatedly in the men's room, the next place he would find his foot is up his ass.

Let’s face it, if most of us, even US Senators were in a bathroom and our foot hit somebody, we’re not going to plead guilty to anything. It was his embarrassment over what was really going on that caused him to plea and flee. I think his statement to the officer “You entrapped me” or “You solicited me” was devastating. You don’t get solicited or entrapped into accidentally hitting someone with your foot.

As I said on another thread, my assemblywoman, elected by conservative Republicans in NYS, stood up and made a passionate speech begging for the passage of the gay marriage amendment because her son is gay. Who is the bigger hypocrite? A senator who represents his constituents despite his own possible proclivities or one who works against the desires of his or her constituents?

Senator Craig needs to give it up. The governor needs to appoint a replacement already!

I can’t believe people want this loser to hang on. He is bringing down the party. The sooner we are rid of him the better. Even if he wasn’t guilty, his judgement is awful and not worthy of a US senator.

You are right...most people in the private sector would choose that path. This guy has a lot to lose. Take it to trial...major media. Probably would have been forced to resign either way.

It seems to be a lose, lose either way. Perhaps he tried to make a calculated decision. As I stated earlier, I am not trying to defend him. It is indeed a great way to set someone up though. No?
