OMG I can’t believe this............they wouldn’t dare!! Talk about turning DEI into a parking lot, that would be the last straw. I mean really!

************************

There is also a possibility, a very real one according to some, that Earnhardt may wake up Sunday morning without a ride for the rest of the season.

Because Saturday night’s race at Richmond might be the last one for Earnhardt Junior at Dale Earnhardt Incorporated at least for the foreseeable future.

Sources close to Dale Earnhardt Incorporated indicate that there are no provisions in any contract with Earnhardt Junior that would prevent the team from pulling him from the No. 8 should he not make the Chase for the championship.

In fact they said, that very real possibility exists and is being seriously discussed.

How would DEI benefit by jerking Jr? What would be their reasoning?

Well, that would be something it was uni-directional (DEI removing him from the #8).
If, however, Jr. wanted to get out and drive for another team it could be more of a mutual decision. In either case, it would be a big one...

Also wonder if DEI could just be letting this out to poke Jr. That would be a crappy thing to do, but I wonder...

I don’t see it as a bad thing. Jr could concentrate on his Busch team or start R & D testing at Hendricks. Don’t you think between the 24, 48, & 5 stables they could pull out a competitive car?
