“AT&T will be allowed to sponsor the NASCAR Nextel Cup car through 2008 but must come off after next season, said David Garver, AT&T executive director of business development and wireless sponsorship. As part of the agreement, NASCAR agreed to drop the $100 million countersuit against AT&T.”
I wonder how many past girlfriends and cell mates are mentioned there...
I stayed away from talking business. We had a table of about 12 and we just had a lot of fun talking about different subjects. He mentioned how the traveling thing is getting to him. He made two of his traveling companions from Bass Pro Shop get up and sing keroke. Funny stuff. The room only had about 24 people in it so he was definitely in a relaxed atmosphere. Shhhh, he drinks Coors Light.
I just saw the interview with Smoke about his view of Toyota and it was all positive. I wonder if he got a offer of a ride in a Open Wheel Toyota powered car...
But not once has Earnhardt compromised his integrity. Not once has he let his lame-duck situation be an excuse.
And if he doesn’t make the Chase, which he’s all but resigned to, he’ll focus on the positives.
“There’s a lot of pressure that won’t be on me for 10 races,’’ he said. “There’s other things I’ll be able to do as far as appearances and things. I’ll also be able to look a little more harder into the future in preparing for next year and doing the switch with the teams and moving over.’’
Asked if he might help his future teammate get into the Chase, four-time Cup champion Jeff Gordon laughed.
“If he asks nicely, I’m sure we can arrange something,’’ he said. “Those are all things that happen as the race unfolds. Obviously, both me and Jimmie [Johnson] are trying to get bonus points and get the best position. That’s our agenda.
“If we can’t accomplish that and there’s something we can do to help Junior get in ... he’s a great asset to the Chase and the sport.’’
Kvapil to the #88? Restucturing at Yates: Robert Yates Racing is expected to announce a management structure change Friday night that, according to multiple sources close to the situation, will include team owner Robert Yates’ retirement. Those same sources say that Travis Kvapil, current driver of Roush Fenway Racing’s #6 Ford in the Craftsman Truck Series, will replace Ricky Rudd in the #88 Ford for the 2008 Sprint Cup season. Sources said Doug Yates, Robert’s son and the president of the team, will assume the ownership role and preside over the company. Sources also said that Roush Fenway Racing will provide full support to Yates, including licensing, marketing and engineering. It was unknown how this might affect the recently-announced partnership between open wheel team Newman/Haas/Lannigan Racing and Yates. Robert Yates has been a Cup Series owner since 1989. During that time he has established himself as the premier engine builder at NASCAR’s highest level and has collected 57 victories.(ESPN.com)(9-7-2007)

thanks for the heads up, gotta go back to Twin for one last load, see ya Sat. night
My weekend has been made! lol
Gonna take a tall order for Jr to make it into the chase, but ya just never know, do ya?
I had the voodoo doll for KB made, but I canceled the order for Happy - just could not bring myself to do it!
Thanks for the update on RYR. I figured some big changes were coming, especially after the merger. I think there is some health issues with Robert, remember at last year's race here we saw him taken to the infield care center.
I hope Doug can get all the ducks in line!
Time for....start your engines!.....
Oh, man, that was a weak one - you be fired!
I’ll be in and out.
I thought to myself when I captured a pic of the 29 car today with that 3 still on there, I can’t wish him bad luck. I think Jr can use the time to get himself ready for next year.....he said he can do some more appearances and stuff instead. :)
Okey dokey.....just shout when you’re here. :)
The cars are rolling on the Action Track!
Green flag
Boy the Navy car is getting so much action by the booth today, I guess these days to get noticed you have to have a wreck that could have killed you.
