She was once a very good comic.

Her original ‘one woman show’...which was broadcast on HBO back in the early 1980’s ‘made her career’.
It was very funny, and pointed.
I find the woman’s political point of view ridiculous, and her defense of the indefensible (as in this specific case with Vick) despicable.
Doesn’t change the fact that once upon a time she was very good as a stand up comedian.
You and I have a vastly different idea of "funny" then. I vaguely remember seeing her stand up routine and thinking "what dreck"
