“Dude, you must have the thickest skin of any Frenchman living to be a full fledged FReeper ;o)”
You should have written : “you must have the thickest skin of any Frenchman living to actually live in France while being a FReeper”
I don’t think you can imagine how it is to live in a near-communist country when you are a 100% conservative.
Sarko not helping?
FRiend, I don’t even go to states where I can’t carry my shootin’ iron, let alone socialist bastions...you have my sympathies.
Bless you, drzz.
Since Sarko’s election, I have started enjoying French wine again.
I lived in Norway for a year as a student in 1974-75, during the OPEC crisis. All of my fellow students were communists, and I was an Ayn Rand card-carrying Objectivist and avowed freemarketer. I can well imagine the care with which you say anything at all o as to maintain civility with acquaintances.
I'm afraid we'll all find out on Inauguration Day, 2009.
Perhaps you are correct, although we sometimes live in pockets of leftism, so we can imagine.
BTW: Designer visited Paris last week and to his amazement he noticed some hard-core communists offering to sell printed material.
As if there wasn't quite enough leftism already.
