I disagree as New York has already been proven a smaller piece of the whole than the Islamists assumed when they attacked. Should they attack again while President Bush is in the WH, they know our military resources aren’t located strictly in New York, but surround their borders and that is a major deterrent.
They will continue their assault on the World through emigration to, and assimilation of Western Societies, and continue to attempt to discourage Westernization of the ME through their Terrorist activities.
We should expect to hear/read more pap and saber rattling from the Iranians, but as they lose more support from the Iraqi’s we can expect the Iranian regime to increase their terrorism to counter the successful surge operations, but over there. That is where they are losing.
We must confront the Saudi’s and the spread of Wahhabism attributable to that regime. The Saudi’s are playing the World for their own self interests.
I'm afraid we'll all find out on Inauguration Day, 2009.
Any word on the two suspicious men seen on the Puget Sound Ferrys? Its been a couple of weeks now and no one has come forward with information on who the two men were in the photograph taken by the captain. You would think that with as much publicity this story got, that someone would of came forward proclaiming their innocence if they were just curious tourist.
I was on one of these Ferrys over the Holiday weekend and I could not help but notice the hidden cameras everywhere, including the entry ways to the observation sponsons where the men where standing in the photo.
That leads me to think, the FBI must have more on these guys than what they are allowing to go public.
Taxis and hot-dog/pretzel carts litter the most crowded parts of the city. Most are operated by muslims. Each is a 500 or 2500 pound bomb.
Yeah, my husband has a long term assignment coming up in D,C, -— he’ll be living a few blocks down from the WH on Pennsylvania Ave. For the first time in our marriage, I’ve had to seriously confront the prospect of life without him. He thinks I’m being ridiculous. I suppose it is nothing compared to what the wives of our troops in the Middle East endure, but I’m going to be a nervous wreck for those long months.
My gut is anxious but my brain says they never announce these things in advance and do not favor doing things on specific dates and won’t hit us on days of increased security.
Thanks, V. Anyone else notice that it will be a Tuesday again?
Nasiriya is a small part of a whole as I posted of New York City. Idealism is rampant in the ME, but the only ones financing the spread of the Islamic Ideology through Wahhabism is the Saudi’s. They can afford to do so.
I’m by no means the ultimate resource on this topic, and know it, thus I am open to discussion.
I base my beliefs, thus responses upon having read of, and observed the traits of the Islamics, and understanding their “religion” is based upon beliefs of BC ME worship of a Pagan Moon God, modified by a crackpot cave dweller named Muhammed whom apparently believed he was contacted by God rather than Satan in the seventh Century. Therefore my personal belief is not to screw around with these people and get on with the “Good always overcomes Evil” bit.
To kick back and fear the game is nonsensical as they ultimately will expose more and more to their legitimate Evil making it more and more difficult for sanity to prevail on this Earth.
Farragut said and did it so well didn’t he. “Damn the Torpedoes, full speed ahead”. Kick their butts, and do it now.
Yep.
My dh is a commercial airline pilot and a USMC aviator/Reservist which is pretty much 24/7/365. Do I worry? I used to a lot, lot more but it’s draining and a waste of time. In recent years my prayers are still for his safety but also for him to kick the ass of terror should it stand before him, and make history.
Yes I did notice it is Tuesday again. HMMM
Hi Velveeta! ;)
The Islamic murderers blew up the WTC in 1993 and Clinton called the cops. They blew up Khobar Towers and Clinton called the cops. They blew up the USS Cole and Clinton called the cops. They blew up our embassies and Clinton called the cops.
In all cases, Clinton's response was the same. He called the cops. He didn't (or refused) to recognize that these were acts of war. He didn't have the guts to pursue a wartime strategery. He is a coward. Clinton's idea of war is launching cruise missiles against unoccupied desert camps or pharmaceutical factories, or dropping bombs from 30,000 feet on Bosnia.
Bush had the wisdom to recognize 9/11 as an act of war (something Clinton or Gore would not), and the courage to mobilize accordingly. Of course, from a political viewpoint, he had paid a price for that courage. Then again, history shows that men of action often pay a price in popularity. But doing the right thing isn't always popular, and those who seek popularity (like Clinton) seldom do the right thing.
Relax drzz, a Dadullah by any other name would smell as sweet.
Hi GMO!
How’s things?
Well. And for you?
” (something Clinton or Gore would not), “
With nothing to back my assertion up, I still believe that “President Gore” would have reflexively used nukes against Afghanistan — cowards overreact to threats to their psyches....
You think we’re ‘international pariahs’ now........
Your info is fine.. What you may not have done is noticed that all the Islamists groups have the same goal.
The imposition of sharia on the world. The wahhabis have that goal, the Sunni groups like AQ, MB, HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, etc.. have that goal. Hizb-Tahir has that goal. The Khomenists in Iran have that goal. So does Hizballah.
They all have disagrement in the front-line tactics.
HAMAS is fighting Kaffar in formerly Islamic lands.
MB is engaged in ideological groundwork and dissemition.
so is Hizb Tahir
AQ is engaged in fighting the Far Enemy.
None of these groups are necessarily working in concert with one another (some are of course) and not all groups agree with the tactics of the others. but they’re all working according to their own understanding of what is called The Method of Mohemmed.
You should watch this lecture that was given at the Heritage Foundation about this topic, it was very englightening to me.
Following the Method of Mohammad: Jihadist Strategies in the War on Terror
To many observers the jihadis seem to have no strategy at all. Attacks around the world appear random or even counter-productive, and there is, apparently, no over-arching strategic vision driving their project. Dr. Habeck argues quite the reverse there are coherent strategies behind the seeming randomness of the jihadist war on the West, strategies that only make sense within the ideologies of the various extremist groups.
Dr. Habeck has written Storm of Steel: The Development of Armor Doctrine in Germany and the Soviet Union, 1919-1939 (Cornell, 2003); co-edited Spain Betrayed: The Soviet Union in the Spanish Civil War (Yale, 2001) with Ronald Radosh and Grigory Sevostinianov; edited The Great War and the Twentieth Century (2000), with Jay Winter and Geoffrey Parker; and published essays in several collections. Currently, she is writing two books on jihadist ideology.
