John Lott's book, "More Guns, Less Crime," was the seminal research study proving that law-abiding armed citizens do in fact reduce the violent crime rate. Lott earned a Ph.d in economics from UCLA is on the staff of the University of Maryland and has taught in several other schools including Yale and Penn.
