Exactly the point that was intended in this article. I have begun to notice a shift in the writings about our nation in things written after the turn of the century.
Around the time of Ellis Island I see a shift away from the Founders thinking.

Around the time of Ellis Island I see a shift away from the Founders thinking.That's because we let too many in too fast. That's how we got the likes of Teddy Kennedy and some other lefties. Hey, corporations wanted cheap labor then too. We were finally smart enough to see the light. I guess it's going to take some more violence like 'the gangs of New York'. One would have thought that 9/11 would have done it.
