As with his supporters, Mitt Romney is pissing in the wind and its blowing right back in his face.

Need I remind the Romneyites and everyone else. Fred leads Mitt in every national poll under the sun. Missing one more debate isn't a big deal. There will be plenty to come. Fact is, debates are Mitt`s strong point. his best attribute up till now. I thought Mitt won the first two GOP debates, hands down.

Lets not forget, we're picking the leader of the free world, not the best debater. In that regard, Fred Thompson wins hands down.

Fred is a myth. Romney is real. The biggest appeal of Fred is his “hard to get” persona.

Once he stands up with the rest of them, we will see the real Fred.

Romney got himself both a law degree and MBA at the same time, while raising a young family; he started his own venture capital firm, made half a billion leading it through a number of successful investments; was asked to become CEO of Bain and Co., and turned that company around in a year;
he also who went in and saved the SLC Olympics from scandal; that, plus he has executive experience as Governor ...

I dont think Romney takes a back seat to anyone in the leadership category. JMHO.

Thompson missed the Republican debate in Manchester NH on June 5th too but he won it even though he waws not there. Thompson was interviewed on FOX the same night of the debate and scored more points than any of the Republicans. Thompson is the man to beat.

Unless Thompson is found in bed with a member of his staff of the same gender, caught driving under the influence, or is taped taking money from Red China, or holding a fund raiser in a Bud dist Temple he will probably be the next president.

Incorrect. Romney has pulled even with Hollywood Thompson in the most recent polls:

Giuliani – 27% (30% in July)
Romney – 16% (10% in July)
Thompson – 16% (17% in July)

I suspect this trend will continue.

Sure, he's a good leader...for a guy who's got zero leadership experience.
