ST. PETERSBURG - Most of the 35-member team that helped bring the Byler sextuplets into the world during three hectic minutes held hands with Karoline and Ben Byler before the Caesarean section delivery. Then they prayed.
Ben Byler said that was the most memorable moment in the Saturday night births of the couple's five sons and daughter at Bayfront Medical Center.
They were the first sextuplets born in Florida and the 14th in the United States.
"Thanks to the Lord above," he said Sunday morning. "It's sunk in now, and there's a lot of relief, except for this one. We've just got to pray."
Ryan Patrick was experiencing breathing problems, and he and two siblings were on ventilators. Karoline Byler remains in Bayfront and was "doing extremely well," according to physician Karen Raimer, who delivered the babies.

Whatever happened to good old proofreading? :-)
Prayers
I noticed that, too. :-(
Thanks Lord for these wonderful babies.
Thanks Lord for these wonderful babies.
I guess this couple thinks that the worst is over. Wait until the babies are all 20 months old and we will see if they still think so.
Prayers for them. They sound like nice hardworking people and I hope the babies are all well and strong. I hope the parents are strong, too, because they’re going to need it!
Yep. I was reading the above post ...at 20 months they are cute and the parents will get lots of help. 7 teenagers in the house though.....
These little ones are amazing. It’s like seeing God at work.
From the Byler website, when the couple learned they were having multiples: “Ben and Karoline’s reactions mirrored the couple’s personality differences. Karoline began screaming and Ben sat in silence.”
A learning experience coming their way, for sure! :-)
God bless the babies, and give their parents wisdom and knowledge in raising them!
The article mentions “more than a dozen family members and friends waiting anxiously” and says they were all pitching in. That’s just what’s needed -— and I hope they’re there for the long haul.
Hopefully they'll all have good teeth and never need braces. Six orthodonist visits at a time would be hell multiplied by 6.:)
I'm sure we all hope and pray that all 6 babies will grow up healthy and with no complications from their early births.
the lil ones truly are amazing!
our own ryan patrick was nearly 10 lbs. :)
the best of everything to these sweeties
and their family. :)
That is probably too much to expect.
